Does your cat chirp?

I have a 3 year old persian who has been outside probably less than an hour his entire life (totally declawed), but he loves to chirp at the birds outside. Sometimes I think about buying a small bird or mouse and letting him have a go at it. I never would, but I think he would be beside himself with excitement. For now, I guess he will have to content himself with watching the birds outside and ambushing the dogs when they come around the corner.

Your title made me literally laugh out loud. I think its very cute. I don't have a cat, I have 2 dogs but our one day thinks he is small ( Siberian Husky ) and can be a lap dog...NOT

Yes! I've actually had 4 different cats that did this over the years...it's so fun to watch. Right now we have brothers--one will sit in one window and the other in the other window and they will both start doing it. :teeth:

Yep, my cat chirps at the birds outside the window. It's very cute.

Yep, she chirps, like she is trying to get the birds to come play.

Ohhhh....GIVE Your persian a mouse or bird and see what wonders occur! :lmao:

Let Auntie Denise tell you a story....Once upon a time, we bought a house with a cat-door going out to the attached garage. "How wonderful!!!!", we thought, "We can put litterboxes for our 3 cats in the garage and totally eliminate any smell!".

Within a week, the cats recognized the sound of the garage door opener as FREEDOM! So, we'd leave the garage door cracked open for their return.

Now, our cats loved us SO MUCH they brought LIVE birds (1) & mice (3) into our home to show their esteem & appreciation. (I'm a former farm girl - dead mice & birds don't throw me, but catching LIVE ones is another story.)

Anyhow...that magical "portal" was permanently CLOSED the morning the neighborhood stray cat ("Greyballs") was seen peacefully slumbering on our guest bed. :lmao:

Both of our pound rescue cats have at one time or another. The best toy ever was a long stick, that had a long string with a feather thing on the end. We would waive it around and they will pounce and bounce and freak out!

You folks must have cats that make much nicer "chirping" sounds than my Maine Coons. They do this absolutely blood-chilling trilling sound when they are hunting; it gives me the willies.

DH calls it the voice of the Angel of Death.

When our cat Dots purrs it sounds like he's chirping. He's the only musical one in our family.

Speaking of birds and cats, many years ago one of our cats brought in a live woodpecker through the cat door. That thing was huge!

Our cat Ailaina was raised by our dachshund and seems to be very confused about whether she is a cat or a dog (our older cats would have nothing to do with her). I have heard her "chirp" but I think she is really trying to bark. The cat can't meow to save her life, she sounds rather pathetic when she tries.

I had a cat that chirped - it was so cute! He would do it when he saw a squirrel.

(Denise - I'm dying laughing about the cat named "Greyballs." :lmao::lmao:)

Mine does the clicking thing. Only cat I've ever had that does that. In fact, we've found that if we see a bird, make clicking noises at her, and point, she will run over to the window to see.
