Does Wine Country Trattoria charge a split plate fee?

Trying to decide if this restaurant will be. Good choice for my family who’s visiting but they we’ll want to split plates as they are not big eaters.

We split something when we were there last summer and were not charged a split plate fee, although we didn't ask them to split the plate. We just ordered one thing and asked for an extra plate.
