My fiance and I are going to stay at the AKL for our "Disneymoon". They know that it is our honeymoon...just wondering if they do anything special for us?

Thanks!

We stayed at the Yacht Club and received a colour photo card signed from Minnie & Mickey attached to 3 balloons. They were left in our room. It was lovely.
We also had a telephone message from Minnie & Mickey congratulating us.

At the very least, Disney goes out of their way to make sure that they congratulate you on your recent marriage...you just have to make sure that people KNOW...as you said your resort knows...any ADR's you make you should tell the CM that it's your honeymoon...wear your wedding ears in the parks or the "just married" buttons you can get from guest services at Magic Kingdom...you'll get lots of congrats and maybe a little something here or there...a little Pixie Dust if you will!!! But I've heard that expecting say, free deserts, or other freebies isn't a good idea b/c it doesn't always happen that way. So if you get little fun surprises it's just icing on the cake! I do know that if you eat at Cinderellas Royal Table, I believe that it's part of the deal that you get really nice etched champagne flutes if they know it's your honeymoon. (Of course it costs an arm and a leg to eat there as it is and I'm not sure it would be worth it to eat there just for free champagne flutes! For some it's a great way to start things out...it's a character meal and when you go into the restaurant there is someone there to take your pictures with a princess, perhaps Cindy herself!, and then they deliver the prints to you while you eat which is why it's so costly for a MK character meal!! Some swear by it though for a Magical experience to start off the Disneymoon!!!)

Congrats and have a wonderful time!!! I'll be there on my Disneymoon in August!!! :wizard: princess:

We had a wonderful Disneymoon at WDW!!! Just make sure when you make your ressies and ADRs they note that you are on your honeymoon. I think we got specail attention at every restaurant we ate at during that time, and it was during the free dining last year. We did recieve the flutes at CRT, they also decorated our table and gave us a beautiful certificate. We we congratulated by Minnie Mouse on the phone, got to ride upfron on the monorail, recieved beautiful deserts from LeCelier, Alfredos, and CRT. Bomas didn't really do anything but congratulate us. We were sung to at WCC. The most magical was our evening at Narccooses, watching the fireworks as they brought us our wedding cake (but I paid for that). Just go have fun aand enjoy the time you have together. I would recomend wearing the specail buttons you get at guest services, we actually recieved way more attention wearing those than the wedding ears. Congratulations and have a wonderful time.

Ok, when I made ADRs for CRT It didn't occur to me to mention we were going to be on our honeymoon. Would it be tacky to call them and tell them that now?

on my disney honeymoon we stayed at CSR... when we arrived maybe an hour after someone knocked on our door with a present from the resort front desk... it was a mickey and minnie bride and groom.. it was the exact figurine I had on my wedding cake! That was so nice of them.. they also gave us drink coupons... which we used for cokes b/c we don't drink... I know they got a kick out of that.. but we appreciated the free cokes!

We also got or I did.. a free muffin one morning... also during certain rides like Mexico and Small World.. they let us ride by ourselves since it was our honeymoon! I could go on and on about disney pixie dust!

My brother and his wife had their honeymoon there too.. they received the same gift a year later plus.. tons of character special treatment.. they even got to go in a room where the characters were waiting for something.. and they got to meet and have pics taken with Snow white and 7 dwarfs....

So much magic! Just let it happen and see the magic begin.. its more magical that way! :wizard:

Sometimes the resorts and restaurants do throw a little extra pixie dust your way, but it’s always best not to expect it. Obviously Disney wants to make you feel special, but depending on how busy the resort or restaurant is, not everyone receives the same treatment. We did get a few little treats on our honeymoon: a fruit basket from the GF, an autographed picture of Snow White and a picture frame from the BWI, and our own boat on the El Rio del Tiempo ride in the Mexico Pavilion. Just look at any little treats you receive as icing on the cake, and you’ll have a wonderful time!

I agree with Elisabeth - don't expect anything!

Granted, we were not "just married" at Disney, but we did spend the price of a wedding on an intimate vow renewal last week. We stayed at both the Beach Club and the Contemporary during our two weeks there. Our vow renewal was noted on both reservations; although we were at the Beach Club the day of our renewal. Other than being greeted with Congratulations by the Beach Club staff in the lobby, we received nothing.

When we checked into the Contemporary the morning after our vow renewal, we had just finished our MK photo shoot. I was in my wedding gown and tiara, DH was in his dress blues, and it was noted on our reservation that we were on our honeymoon from our vow renewal the day before at the wedding pavilion. Again, we received nothing from the Contemporary or any restaurant.

So, don't go with expectations of receiving anything other than congratulations and then you won't be disappointed.
