Does V&A have a solo dining option?

I might be going to WDW with family around Christmas and I'd like to go, but I may be the only one interested. I saw on the Disney blog that two people is the minimum but it's not listed on the official website anywhere I can find.

You can call and ask. I'd be very surprised to find out there's a minimum for the main dining room or the Queen Victoria room, but there might be a minimum for the Chef's Table.

We've BEEN to V&A, and seen solo dinners in the main dining room. I would dis-regard anything on the WDW Web site, and hit the V&A Website:

Unlike any other Disney owned Restaurant? You MAY (and likely SHOULD) contact them directly:

Oh, thanks!!! I had absolutely no idea I could contact them directly. That's why I asked here first actually- I don't know if I could get a decisive answer out of a random guest services member.

If you don't mind sharing- would you dine there again given price and quality? And if you dined in the dining room, did you do the 7 courses or 10 courses?

I've enjoyed prefixe meals in the past, but V&A would definitely be in the splurge category for me.

We would go again. We had the seven course main dining room. We did add on a few things offered plus wine pairings. It was an 800 night.

Just my subjective opinion but this is probably the only restaurant I'd go solo. Eating alone in TS restaurants made me lonely on my solo trip.

I'm very much ok eating solo in fast food and sit down restaurants thanks to a few years of living solo far away from home after college. Disney would be no exception (I've done it at Disneyland).

However, V&A's is probably one of the few restaurants I would not do solo. (Monorail Dine Around and Dessert Parties also come to mind.). This experience is an EVENT. one you'll want to talk about for years to come. It's so great to be able to share that with my wife. It's so expensive that I wouldn't want to sit there buried in my phone like I'd be comfortable doing solo at a normal restaurant, and there's no chance of real conversation with other diners.

That said, it was definitely worth it for us, and I think you should convince someone else in your party to join you!

However, V&A's is probably one of the few restaurants I would not do solo. (Monorail Dine Around and Dessert Parties also come to mind.). This experience is an EVENT. one you'll want to talk about for years to come. It's so great to be able to share that with my wife. It's so expensive that I wouldn't want to sit there buried in my phone like I'd be comfortable doing solo at a normal restaurant, and there's no chance of real conversation with other diners.

That said, it was definitely worth it for us, and I think you should convince someone else in your party to join you!

Thanks for your perspective.That's rather what I was wondering. I've done pre-fixe in major cities and eating solo doesn't both me if it's all about the food but it does look like the type of place that would be more fun with someone else.

I could talk someone into coming but I'd be paying is what it comes down to. And if my food hound sibling was coming on the trip, I'd probably treat her, but I feel like it may be wasted on the rest of them.

I've gone to similar dining experiences alone - not infrequently. Because I travel so much for work, sometimes I want to splurge on my own. I think these types of experiences are great on your own because you're so focused on the food - with or without companions. Do it - I think you'll enjoy it, but that's just 1 perspective and god knows such things are subjective.

I do 7 courses but usually add on caviar, because I love it and its my favorite splurge whenever its on a menu

I went to V&A's alone for my 50th birthday and had a great time! I didn't feel awkward at all, but like so many others am used to traveling alone for business. The service is impeccable so there really isn't any downtime (i.e., phone checking time) where you've finished your plate and waiting for it to be cleared. Do it and enjoy yourself!

Sorry your not comfortable dining alone. Me, i have no issues and don't feel lonely. And I know a lot of people that go to disney solo yearly and they have no issues with it either. Its quite peaceful dining alone...but of course some wouldnt see it that way.

Im with you on this...As i stated, I have no problems dining solo. BUT I know what you mean about not wanting to do V&A solo. It is an event that's best shared with someone. I'd still do it alone, but would obviously prefer a partner.
