We are going to Universal in June for the first time. I was wondering if they have any fireworks at night that we could see from Hotel (Royal Pacific) or CityWalk?

I would assume they would do the same as last year and that is only have Universal 360 which is a laser show and the reason they haven't had fireworks is because of the Harry Potter construction but if I am wrong someone else will correct me :rotfl:

Well...I'm not sure what is going to happen this summer. The last thing I heard was no fireworks because of the construction on HP World but that was a while ago...I'm just not sure if there will be fireworks this summer or not.

They had fireworks last year ,but only at US, while IOA stayed open an extra hour on the 4th July ,and even when they had them in both parks we where unable to se them from RPR.
Have not heard anything about fireworks for this year, if you contact Guest Services they will be able to tell you.
They usually had firworks very late in June, maybe around 25th June into early August at Universal & IOA, but like other said, with the HP construction , it could be limited fireworks this year as well.

Last July durring our week stay they had the fireworks and Universal 360 show in Universal every night. A couple of nights watched from our room at RPR.:thumbsup2

The area where they are building Harry Potter, is that where they usually set off the fireworks or something? Just wondering why new construction would affect fireworks.

The embers could start a fire. Universal shoots their fireworks off lower in the sky than Disney so there's more of a risk and if it's dry weather, that's even more of a chance of something bad happening.

Did they not have any over last Xmas /new year. They have always had them a this time before. I am going again next year and hope to see some:confused:

They have some fireworks with the 360 show. The show is whenever the parks are open until 10:00 PM. That is usually from the middle of June through August, 2 weeks during Spring break, and from Dec.26-Jan1.

The park hour have always been dependent on anticipated crowds. If they are expecting fewer people this July than last year they'll probably close earlier than last year.

Just a guess but: I suspect they expect fewer people and if that projection changes they can always add another hour to the schedule. It's much easier to change the posted hours from 9:00 PM and change it to 10:00 PM rather than the other way around. If they posted a 10:00 closing and later changed it to 9:00 PM, it could cause lots of complaints. I bet there is a good chance that the hours may increase as the summer gets closer.

Get to the 360 show early to get a good viewing spot and expect very large crowds. It was rough getting out of the park after the show and then the boats were not running to the resorts due to lightning in the area. We will be better prepared this year as we know what to expect. I miss their traditional fireworks and thought last years cancellation was due to the RRR construction (or so several TM told us). I thought since the attraction will be open this year the fireworks would be back on. I forgort about HP. Oh well, maybe next year!

Thanks for the tip, I will be sure to get there early!!:thumbsup2

I was hoping for the end of June:sad1:

Me too!! I am annoyed  and sent an e- mail to Universal telling them how disappointed I am and how I can go to WDW to enjoy 3 night-time shows and longer park hours. I don't think it will do any good ...

I was hoping for June also. I would think June would be a pretty busy season, I can't believe they are not starting the night show until July!
