After watching this:

Coke and Mentos

How many of you want to go and stick a mentos into a coke bottle now?

I find that more times than not, when people hear something that sounds realistic, and able to be done without much money or none at all, people will try it lol.

For example, once people hear that it's near impossible to lick your elbow, they test that fact for themselves. (Sometimes they can prove that statement false, sometimes not lol... )

Curious, eh?

It's possible. The radio station I used to listen to did it.

I am still amazed that these guys would actually take time out of their lives to "ignite" 101 bottles of diet coke and make a movie about it lol. It's entertaining though. Heh.

Personally I would not stick a mentos in a coke bottle...what a waist of perfectly good coke! ;)

not me on that one for some reason but i am always trying to lick my elbow

We did it in my Chemistry class last year, they fountain pretty high.....but you have to get out of the way quick cuz its an immediate reaction

Heehee... Mythbusters did a show on that. :teeth: They got it pretty darn high, too! I think they got over 35 feet (with a nozzle).

It works. I've tried it. It happens because of the peservatives in the candy and the aspertame in diet coke. They cause a fast release of carbon gas and make the coke fizz.

oh, and I had a teacher who could lick his elbow.
that is the freaking weirdest thing I've seen in my life.

I don't think it was ever doubted that it wasn't possible..

I think the weirder part of that last sentence is that it was your teacher. Did he present to the class his elbow licking ability? Heh, it would have been lovely if the principal walked in during that "lesson".

I've seen a girl bend her elbow in the opposite direction....just, uh, oddest thing I've seen.

Well I brought it up (yeah I know, leave it to me) but he said he could do it, and of course no one believed him, so he made all of us try it first. and then he did. and yeah, thats the scariest thing that I've seen in a classroom.

Isn't it great to take teachers on the road of digression...or better yet, take them off the road altogether? Heh. Why stick to the lesson plan?

It was his first year teaching. it was easy to distract him. plus it was a band class. we never paid attention in there. lol

It's band...who would pay attention anyway? heh. ;)

I have already done it when we kidnapped our freshman in band. Me and two friends all had the guts to do it in our mouth. One though, drank some and accidently swallowed them. He had some explosive hmmmmm. . .

i did that in school we all got drenched in coke because our teacher "forgot" to tell us to stand back :lmao: ... then i drank the coke with the mentos at the bottom..it was pretty good,, they should make it a new coke flavor!! :rotfl:
