Looking to book a King Room at Coronado Springs. Wonder if any rooms would fall under these three room preferences:

1) Rancho Section
2) Corner Room
3) A good view or Near transportation?

We're booking a non-prefered, non-water view room...could we get the above met with just a regular king room? Would a different booking category help us out in getting the above? Should we ask for a certain building? Any other room request suggestions? We're kind of adamant about staying in the Ranchos section and the King is a must...I guess all we need help is finding a location to request.

Talk us through it...our ears are open. :listen:

You can request whatever you want, but just remember they are requests only. Being adamant may not be such a good idea. I have stayed at CSR ten times and am always 'adamant' that I hate the Ranchos and will not stay there. Personally I love the Cabanas with a preference for Cabanas 8A.:rotfl: In ten trips my request has always been 'First floor Cabanas with a preference for 8A". I've only gotten in that building twice, even asking very politely for it every single time I check in. I've tried using online check in and also regular check in. It didn't seem to matter. Saying that, even though I have requested Cabanas 8A ten times, I have been in Casitas 1, Casistas 2 (back before they made those buildings preferred), Cabanas 9B three times, Cabanas 9A twice, and Cabanas 8B once. Even though the one area I do not like at CSR is the Ranchos and I always request not to be put back there, I was assigned that area once, but only stayed for one night, before they were able to find me a room in the Cabanas.:rotfl:

You're best bet is to book the King room, then make a request for the building you want, hoping for the best. Do not do online check in. Instead do regular check in and ask the CM very politely if your requests were met and if not could she get anything close. Remember that the fewer requests you have the better chance you have of getting them. The more specific your requests are, the harder they are to meet and alot of CMs won't even bother. Choose the ones that are most important to you.

The one time that I was assigned in the Ranchos I was in Buidling 6A facing a pretty courtyard. The room was not far from transportation, but was not a king and was not a corner room.

There are king rooms in each village, so I would book a king room and request ranchos if that is your preference. Most people like to be closer to the main building, so ranchos is the least requested village, although there are people who prefer it and request it.

Ranchos 6A is closest to the ranchos bus stop (bus stop #3, but it is the second stop picked up and dropped off when going to and from the parks). 6A is the farthest building from El Centro. Ranchos 7B is pretty close to the cabanas bus stop (stop #4, third picked up and dropped off). I like the location of ranchos 7B better because it has a quiet pool and laundry and is very close to the Dig Site.

I don't know if the corner rooms are queen or king rooms or if it varies.

Generally it is best to limit your requests, but there is no harm in asking for ranchos, near bus stop, prefer corner room. Just make sure you book a king room - that is a booking category, not a request.

I agree with aubriee not to do online check-in since you would like a specific room type in a specific area.

While your chances of being in ranchos are probably very good, I agree that being adamant won't help in this case. Just ask if they can accommodate your requests, and if you are willing to wait for a room or even switch rooms the second day, make sure you let the CM know. I have always found the CSR front desk CMs to be very helpful and accommodating if they can.

As the others have said, being adament won't help. In fact, you may be setting yourself up for a big disappointment. Everything is only a request. They try, but they can't always meet your requests. The more you request, the less likely you are to receive the perfect room that will make you happy.
Prioritize and limit your requests and you have a better chance.
