I was thinking about Disney today (shocker for us DISers, I know ) and realized I don't remember ever seeing that Disney has a 1-800 number. That sort of surprises me as Disney is a HUGE corporation and many big businesses have 800 numbers. Does this suprise anyone else?

(And before anyone says I'm finding fault with Disney or looking for Disney to offer another "free" thing to its customers in a toll-free line - stop, have a pixie dust moment, and don't post that! )

there is also a 1-877 number, but i can't remember it off hand...its the one i use calling from Canada, and i have not had a problem. :O)

They do have it...it's been posted for you.

Even if they didn't have it, it wouldn't surprise me. True, many big businesses have it, but I doubt that many businesses get the same call volume that Disney receives every day. Each time the toll free number is used, Disney is charged for it. I can imagine that phone bill would be astronomical. It's probably why they don't advertise the toll free number.

Happy to help! I used to work in a business office (that was part of a bookstore) and helped out with the accounting....and I'd see the phone bill every month. We had a lot of college students who worked for us and they'd tell all their friends and family to call the store using the toll free number. Well the bill details the numbers that are calling the toll free number....say how long they were on the call...and would give a charge for it. Since the store was not a chain...just a local store....the cost was really high and many employees were let go because of the abuse of the toll free number (and I'm talking that they were so petty that they'd have friends only a block away call since they were on "college budgets"). I had no idea about how toll free numbers worked until I worked that office.

They probably figure if you are willing to spend lots of money on a vacation, $2-3 extra dollars for long distance wouldn't hurt.
