Does this sound right?

I booked ressies at the Swan 3-21-04 - 3-26-04 at CL (Club Level) at AAA rate $262.50 per night. I then heard about AAApro (AAA + spg )--in which you will be given an upgrade based upon availability. I called and asked about this and was told since I had already booked CL I wouldn't get an upgrade and was already given the AAA rate. I asked if I had booked a traditional room would I have been upgraded to CL. I was told probably if there was availability. I then decided to check what the AP (I don't have one but would be willing to purchase) rate. It was $237.50 per night. I asked the upgrade question again (since AP members get auto upgrade) and was told the same thing. Does this sound right?

So it seems to me that in order to get the most for my $$ I should change the ressies to Traditional. What is the difference between Traditional & Deluxe rooms at the Swan?

Comments/suggestions please  :Pinkbounc

As far as I know, a traditional or standard room has a limited view. We had a standard room at the Dolphin last summer on the Club floor - 12th -with Club access. Our view was of the roof of the convention center and the bus stop. We didn't mind this at the time b/c we were hardly in our room and we were thrilled with a comp upgrade to CL.

Getting a comp upgrade all depends on how busy the resort is - your March dates may be a quiet time - I'm not sure if March is spring break for some parts of the country.

Your rates look good and look at it this way - you are guaranteed to get what you wish rather than leaving it to chance.

Or, can you book a balcony room and hope for CL access. It all depends on what you really, really want. If CL is a major priority, I would leave it and when you check in ask for a room with a great view.

Thanks for the advice Mouseteacher. From what I've read from various posts, the CL is okay but not worth the $ if you have to pay for it. The time that I'm going is Spring Break. Should I go ahead and change my ressies now or wait awhile?
