I am flying in to MCO in September. My flight arrives at 2:20pm. The rest of the group is flying in late Tuesday. We are planning on DHS that day but they want to wait for me. I’m thinking we will get to the park about 2 hours earlier if I Uber/Lyft from MCO to DHS and they leave AKL when I land. Am I overestimating the time saved by me not going to the hotel first? Will it be worth the money spent on the car?

What will you do about luggage? You would probably save an hour to 90 min by going direct to the park.

I think an hour is what you are more likely to save.

Thanks. My husband is bringing my stuff with him the day before. I’m only bringing a small bag with stuff for the flight. No luggage to deal with.

Since you will have no luggage, then I would Uber / Lyft or taxi to DHS from MCO. It should save you around 90 minutes.

If your flight lands, ontime, at 2:20, here are various possible scenarios..(with carry on only)
1. Using DME...at your resort around 3:45. Then bus to DHS, probably arrive around 4:30
2. Uber/Lyft...if you go directly to DHS, arrival about 3:15ish. But you'll have that bag to worry about. It will have to go through security at the park and then stowed in a locker (I would imagine)
3. Uber from MCO to your resort. Arrive around 3ish. Drop your bag, then uber to DHS, arriving around 3:30.

Family wants to wait until mid afternoon to go to a park? I don’t think I could let my family do that lol. I’d rather have them waiting for me there, perhaps with a beverage that I don’t have to wait in line for.

And as for what I would do, I’d get a rental car for the day and meet them there at the park. Easy peasy, and though it’s not my normal recommendation, make sure it has a trunk to stash any carryon-type stuff I don’t want to bring into the park.

They are going to the Experience Conference in the morning. Since I will only have a small cross body bag with my phone and ID I think I’m going to Uber to DHS. I will have them grab a bus to the park when I land.
