Does This Sound Like A Sinus Infection? And Is It Almost Over?

I think I have a sinus infection. (This gets sort of gross... more suited for the DisDoctor-types...)

It all started last week when I woke up with sinus congestion, a super dry throat, and a missing voice. It went on like that for about three days, and then two days ago, I started getting really bad post nasal drip, which led to a cough that was alleviated by blowing my nose (clear discharge).

Last night, however, was absolutely miserable. This morning isn't any better. I could literally blow my nose every minute, I have constant post nasal drip accompanied by an annoying cough, and when I blow my nose, each and every time, a gross greenish-yellow discharge comes out... LOTS of it. (Sorry, this is gross.) The coughing stops... for a minute, until I blow again.

The thing is, I haven't felt "sick" one single day. I feel perfectly fine. 100% energy. If only I could get rid of this post nasal drip!

Does the greenish-yellow grossness mean that this is almost over?

sounds like the countless sinus infections I've had. Almost over? not necessarily. Might be time for a trip to the doctor for an antibiotic to avoid it becoming broncitis/upper respiratory infection. Hang in there!

I agree. Once it gets to the "green" stage, it is bacterial and you probably need antibiotics to get over it. (Spoken from experience after several bouts of sinus infection.)

I am just getting over a sinus infection - 2 weeks!!! It took a round of Zpack and then Levaquin with Sudafed to get rid of it. The best way to get rid of it is a visit to the doctor and meds.

Yes, it sounds like a sinus infection to me. I am on 15 days of antibiotics right now for a sinus infection. I have the same symptoms that you explained, but also have headaches and pain & pressure under my eyes.
