does this sound like a good/realistic food budget?

this is my first solo trip.
usually i get the dining plan so i don't really think about food budgeting.
and prior to using the dining plan my parents were footing the bill.

i've pretty much determined where i want to eat, when i want to eat, and what i want to eat from each place and then looked up prices and rounded up to the next dollar to account for tax (i understand that if something is $8.99 and i round it up to $9 that its not accounting for tax but i figure that by also rounding up a price like $12.10 to $13 that in the end it will all even out if you know what i mean)
for 4 nights/5 days i've determined it to be about $140.

this is what i plan to eat with that $140
april 12th
-lunch at cosmic ray's starlight cafe: grilled chicken sandwich with fries and i'll have my own water bottle.
$11
-dinner at cosmic ray's starlight cafe: BBQ pork sandwich with fries and a regular sized coke.
$14
-late night snack at POP: tie-dye cheesecake
$5

april 13th
-lunch at fairfax fare: mac n cheese and truffle oil gourmet hot dog with chips and i'll have my own water bottle.
$9
-mid day "snack" at POP: alcoholic beverage by the pool.
$10
-dinner at earl of sandwich: sandwich, side dish, and bottle of coke.
$13

april 14th
-lunch at sunshine seasons: turkey and monterey sandwich with potato salad and a chocolate milk.
$13
-mid day "snack" at L'artisan des glaces: ice cream martini
$12
-dinner at electric umbrella chicken nuggets with fries and strawberry cheesecake and i'll have my own water bottle.
$13

april 15th
-lunch at BOG: roast beef sandwich and strawberry cream cheese cupcake and i'll have my own water bottle.
$17
-dinner at earl of sandwich: sandwich and side dish and bottle of coke.
$13

april 16th
-lunch at POP: mac n cheese and i'll have my own water bottle.
$7

btw i'm not a big breakfast eater so i'm bringing pop tarts and apple juice.

i'm also bringing a few small nesquik chocolate milks just as a little "snack" in my room.

and i'm bringing my own water bottles because i can buy a case of 12 for the same price as disney charges for 3 individual bottles.

i do not feel like i will be hungry with the amount of food that i've decided to eat but i also will not deny myself more food if i do feel hungry.
the budget is more of a guideline not set in stone like i cannot go over it.

I would add a bit to that budget personally. Are you 100% on where you are eating?
Because Cosmic Ray's for lunch and then again for dinner. Are you sure you will be in the same area of the park? Or even want to trek back over from where you are?
HS looks like you are doing a half day with dinner at DTD. Unless you are driving to the parks, there is no direct transportation from HS to DTD. The same goes for your second MK day.
Also, your Epcot day, you have yourself eating at restaurants at the front of the park. Are you really going to trek back to the front for Electric Umbrella? Especially if you find yourself in the World Showcase with more options. Personally, the food has been lack luster every time we have tried Electric Umbrella. If you are going to just eat nuggets then I would suggest getting them in the America pavilion in WS.

Sales tax is 6% I believe. Though don't quote me on that. I would budget $15 per CS meal. Actually, that is what I have budgeted for me an my husband each. My guess is you will spend between $30 and $40 a day.

i really just wanted budget advice but let me answer your questions.

Are you 100% on where you are eating?
-yes

-yes i'm sure.
i like cosmic ray's and i'm starting in tomorrowland and ending in tomorrowland.

-i'm going back to POP mid day and DTD in the evening

The same goes for your second MK day.
-i know. i'm also leaving MK early. probably late afternoon.

-i've planning my epcot day so that i'll be in future world until 1pm and then WS until 6pm and then back in future world to pick up my disney visa free 5x7 so i'll be in the front of the park already.
besides personally i like electric umbrella.

thanks for the info about sales tax. even if its not 6% that gives me something to work with.

btw after adding up my prices it comes to $137 which i then rounded up to $140.

when i took exact prices and added 6% tax to each when i added it all up it came out to be $139.78.
thats pretty much on the money with my estimate for $140.

It's a good plan. As long as you have extra with you. I know when I walk that much I am extra hungry :)

Im not sure when the coupon for free sandwich expires.....

Anyone have that information???????

could i get away with signing up on two different emails and using the free sandwich on both days that i plan on eating there?

It's 6.5% in Orange County and 7% in Osceola County. Parts of the resort are in both counties. You should figure 7%, then you'll come out a little ahead.

Why don't you take the amount of money you are taking (would take closer to $200) and break it down to the amount of days you will be there. Stay there 5 days would come out to $40 a day. Put that many into an envelope and bring to the park. Take an emergency $20 in case you feel like being adventurous one day.

using 7% tax for everything its now $141.10.

as i said its a guideline and if i'm hungry i will not deny myself more food so i do plan on bringing more cash just in case.
i have $105 in gift cards and $62 in disney dream dollars.
and of course i'll have a credit card.
so not having enough money to feed myself is not really an issue.
i just want opinions of my guideline.

You should sign up for at least four, then you could go through the line twice on the days you're there and take the extra sandwich back to your room for a meal later.

Or, sign up with seven different emails and just eat there every day.

Sure, your planned scam should work.

i sense some sarcasm BUT looks like there would be no "scam" going on after all.
i just received the email with the coupon and the coupon specifically states "one coupon per visit, per check".
so don't be so quick to judge.
