Does this seem right for Atkins?

I've been on it for three weeks now and have lost 7 pounds. I've done this diet twice successfully before after nursing both my kids losing 40 pounds each time. It seems it came off very fast then. This time it seems slower. Like the past two times I lost at least five pounds just in the first week.
Does my weight loss seem slow this time?
Or maybe I just lost faster last time around cause I had just stopped nursing?

Thanks for any thoughts!
 
It could be because you are older (sorry) and it could also be that you are not following induction exactly. Are you measuring your vegetables and weighing your portions of cheese?

Also, are you working out regularly?
 
I've also heard that with Atkins, your first time on it tends to show dramatic results, but after that, the progress can be slower. Still, 7 pounds is quite an accomplishment! Be proud of yourself!
 
Yes, I am older! LOL :crazy:

I've found that I really have to keep it around 20 carbs to stay in ketosis. So I've been counting the carbs carefully and checking with the keto sticks.

I've also been walking for thirty minutes each night.

UGH!!!
 

Your body is very smart, you know...

The first time you do anything different to it it works faster, the second time it works slower because it's become accustomed to it. The fact of the matter is your body is trying desparately to keep you from "starving".

Give it a little longer. Most "diets" fail because our bodies do not do what we expect and we go off them because we get discouraged. 7 pounds is awesome, hang in there!
