Ok this is our first trip to WDW. There will be Myself(30), Dh (32), DD(3) and ds 18 months.

Dates December 6th thru 13th

All Star Movies Restore 603.87 rack rate

Tickets 6 day Parkhoppers 900.00

Food 6days 700.00

Travel to and from 400.00

Free spending money 200.00

For a grand total of 2803.87

Does this look right to you all. I know discount codes will probably come out for that time(hopely), but I don't think the Ap will do us any good. We're not planning on going back to WDW untill 2007 (for sons 4th Birthday). They parkhopper price I have is the Disney advanced purches price. We are going to get 14 Q &C vouchers, 1 KVL Voucher and 1 child for Rainforest cafe, 1 Character breakfast, Chef Mickey's on arrival day for dinner, HDDR, and Ohana's on our last night. We are not really big eaters, and on the days we have the special dinners we will have a snack for lunch something small.

Were from Texas so traveling money doesn't need to be to high. Dh likes to drive straight through:mad:

Were not into the sourviner (sp?) thing. I will probably go and buy somethings from the Disney store before we leave.

What am I missing? How can I reduce the amount if at all possible.

TIA

Do you have a AAA card? If so, ask about the AAA rate at your resort. We got the Pop Century for $69/night with AAA for our trip this fall.

I'm sure you'll get lots of helpful advice here so I'll just put in a little:

With kids the ages of yours you don't want to overdo. Unless you want to purchase the 6 day hopper to save for your next trip you could probably buy a fewer-day ticket and plan some down time. Your kids would love the pool, you could visit Downtown Disney and let them play in the fountains, on your HDDR day you could visit FW and let them ride the ponies and visit the petting zoo and play on the playgrounds and after the HDDR you could go to the campfire program at FW and visit with Chip and Dale (depending upon what time your dinner is).

Have you checked menus to be sure you want that many vouchers? I'd compare prices well to be sure you are actually saving money.

Have fun planning!

$200 in spending money will go very fast in 7 days. Even the little things add up.

We have done a week for 2 adults and 2 kids with a budget of $2000 (excluding travel) and came home with money left over. I would suggest 4 day hoppers and have a few days at a slower pace. Go to mousesavers and look at their section entitled free/cheap things to do and use some of those suggestions for non-park days. Lots of good suggetions. If my kids went to the park 6 days they would be so wiped I can't imagine. PS: We stayed at ASMO and had a blast. (We did 1 character meal and no fancy dinners)

As far as AP's go only 1 person has to have one in order to get the discounts. When the codes come out later I would look at the cost of the rooms with the code and Ap price and see what is better. I would also go for less days and have some down time. I tend to think the food budget is a little high--but I don;t know how many meals you plan to eat at sit down places, character meals, .... Character breakfasts are great--and cheaper than dinner. Again this is just my $.02

I think you are high on food budget and/or have too many 'big' meals planned for such young kids. You have 2 Q&C's a day plus a big meal planned, is it four days? That might be too much. I doubt your kids eat much and a main course plus side plus dessert is a lot of food. I am planning on either a Q&C voucher meal or a sit down per day but not both (we are light eaters, and eat even less in WDW) You should be able to save a nice amount on the room cost (one way or another) too. $200 may be low on the spending money, but your kids are young and you may be able to avoid more than we do.

Thanks for all the advice!!

First off, let me tell you our tentive plans for eating. All of this is still up in the air, and will NOT be set in stone, except for the Character meal, HDDR and Rainforest cafe and Ohana's.

Day1 arrival ~ Breakfast and lunch on the road in the car
Dinner~ Chef Mickey's to kick off our vacation.

Day2 ~ Breakfast in the room - cereal for the kids
Lunch - open
Dinner - Beaches N Cream - voucher and splitting meal, one kids meal for both kids

Day3 ~ Breakfast CRT or PSB (if I can get it) Daughters 4th birthday
Lunch - open
Dinner - Pepper Market - voucher and kids meal sharing

Day4 ~ Breakfast - In the room
Lunch - open
Dinner - open

Day5 ~ Breakfast - In the room
Lunch - open
Dinner - HDDR (PS already made!)

Day6 ~ Breakfast in the Room
Lunch - open
Rainforest cafe - VKL Vouchers(one adult and one child, or would it be better to just use one adult and pay cash for the childs meal?)

Day7 ~ Breakfast In the room
Lunch - open
Dinner - Ohana's

As you can see, I have a lot of open spaces for lunch. I just want to make sure we have enought vouchers just in case we feel hungery and want to eat. I haven't decide which days and what parks yet, but our meals will coinside with the parks we are in. We will be bring in some snacks for dd and ds, and might buy one snack for them and one for us to share. In the end I just want most of my meals prepaid. We might not even use all of the vouchers and that's ok.

We will be there for 7 full days, plus arrival day and departure day. One day will be a day off from the parks and well just do DTD and resort hop. If weather premits maybe get a swim in at he hotel.

Were not AAA members, so I won't be getting that discount. I will be looking for Ap discounts and general discounts and last but not least Disney Visa for discounts. Something has to come out.

Ok, I'm rambling now. So tell me what you all think. Anymore advice out there!!

I agree with the other posters that you could probably do less park days...unless you are planning to use the plus features to do a water park (or 2), I'd suggest getting a 5-day hopper without plusses. The day you do HDDR would be a great day to skip the parks and take some time to enjoy FW, and maybe your resort pool, with your little ones. We've learned that by the 4th straight day in the parks, we are totally worn out...best to take a break mid-trip so you can enjoy your last couple of days!

Have a great trip!!

Some comments.

First of all, Beaches and Cream is not a good place for dinner. It is primarily an Ice Cream Parlor with sandwiches. See this link http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_bc.htm for the latest menu.

With an AP you can get 10% off lunch (maximum passholder plus maximum of three guests) Monday through Friday at: Concourse Steakhouse, ESPN Club, Trail's End Buffeteria, Grand Floridian Dafe, Oliva's Cafe, Kona Cafe, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Yacht Club Galley, Alfredo de Roma, Biergarten, Garden Grill, Le Cellier, Chefs de France, Mitsukoshi, Nine Dragons, Akershus, Marrakesh, Rose & Crown, San Angel, Coral Reef, All Star Cafe. There are also 10% dsicounts at some of the Downtown Disney restasurants, but days and times vary.

Another thing to consider is a quick bite early in the morning and a "very late" beakfast (especially if a buffet) instead of lunch.
