When i read a really good book series i kinda of cut myself of from everyone else. i end up living in a bubble and then having to work myself back into my group of friends and stuff. if its a good book series i usually go upstairs to my room close the door turn my itunes playlist to repeat and just lay on my bed and read my heart out all day (or the majority of it) and as much as i dont like cutting myself off from everyone else it just happens! it happened when i read the twilight series and is happening again reading the ugly series (thats what i call them the books are- uglies, pretties, extas, specials). does this ever happen to you. that you get so involved in a book that u live in some dream you create then have to force yourself unwillingly back to reality?

That never happens to me, but I do get really 'in' to a book. Sometimes I will sit in my room all day and just read like crazy, but I never feel cut off from the world.

Sometimes that happens. If I read for a certain amount of time at school I stop paying attention to what's around me. Even afterwards I'm still a little "out of it" It takes me a few minutes to get back to reality. xD

Oh, that does happen to me.

I'll be like really into a book and not paying any attention, & the next thing I know someone is tapping my shoulder telling me it's time to leave. Haha.

And then I'm a..discombobulated afterwards.

I don't really cut myself off from people, but I do lose myself in the book and I lose track of everything that's going on around me.

I only read the Harry Potter books, and I finished the last one in two days, so I didn't need to cut myself off. Other than those, I never read books, even ones for school. I just use Sparknotes.

I used to do that sometimes.
But I've been able to find a better balance. Now I just read after school or before I go to sleep, so I'm not missing out on anything.

No, i mean..kinda but..not really.
Right now I'm reading a really good book (carrie) and i literally JUST got to the part when they said "the prom queen is Carrie" and of course..thats when EVERYTHING happens, but my brother called and i had to pick up the phone.

I will sometimes lose myself in a book however it has to be a great book
Jessica

Yeah... that happens to me with good books. I read the Twilight saga this summer in six days. Four books in six days. Oh my gosh, all I did was read, eat, and sleep. I dont like doing it either, but I feel like I just have to finish it or all I will do is think about reading -_- But yeah.. that was the worst is was. That and Harry Potter :rotfl: I try not to do that anymore.

i hate when that happens.

if im reading something, i usually read all the time. during the day and then again before i go to sleep. at night i start reading at about 10:30 and say "i'll just read 2 chapters." 2 chapters then multiply and i dont stop reading till about 4am.

i just applied at a bookshop today, i really hope i get the job. i love books :)

thats gonna kill you in college lol.

this year i'm taking a shakespare class and out of the 10, maybe 11 plays we've read so far I've only actually READ one. (and i'm getting a 77 haha)
Sparknotes FTW. lol

That has happened to me but I don't necissarily have to try to get back into my group of friends. Ill just read for like an entire day and then I'll go to school and that book is all I will talk about for a while haha.
