Does the WDW website ever work?

Hi All,

I keep trying to price vacations on the WDW website. I'm finding it impossible because although it allows you to put in your dates and search, it keeps coming up "we've ducked out" instead of search results.

Does anyone know if the website only runs for certain hours of the day?

It does but it can be very frustrating without a doubt.
One way to make it helpful, try private or incognito browsing.
The site has a serious/significant cookie problem. For whatever reason it doesn't properly clear them and they'll cause issues for subsequent visits to the site.
Private or incognito browsing will get around that so if it is a cookie problem (the most common of problems) it will fix it.

Like others have indicated the browser and its cache matter along with rebooting your system to ensure your initiation files are reset as some apps can temporarly alter them. After that Disney's portal site is composed of an array of applications; scheduling, event, booking, etc. They do have some integration issues causing them to timeout or loose connection which are programmed to display some annoying pages customers reference. Its what happens when you build things over time and there is most likely an army of IT staff "stiching" it back together everyday. We haven't even talked about spikes in users due to event release dates, etc which produce input/output and network connect issues. Just do what you can on your end and keep trying...they will clear things on their end. You can always call too, but if there is a system issue they will face the same issues depending on the souce of the system issue

Does the WDW website ever work?

Yes, it does :). But it FAILS regularly. Generally because you see the cute Website, but never see the 1970's grade back end systems :).
Gonna SOUND bad - but WDW's so-called "website" is classic lipstick on a pig :). A Web Front End trying DESPERATELY to talk to a very old Mainframe System.

You see, this is not a "Business Website" - it's a continuing uncontrolled experiment. REAL business IT is not running it. It has no classic "change control", and may totally fail at any moment.

WHEN (not if) it fails? CALL CALL CALL.... WDW's choice.

There's a rare blood moon event this week, so you should be good for at least 24 hours. :)

But not WDW's dime. Calling is long distance. For international guests, a bad option.
Heck, calling for us in the US is worse than dealing with their website. Their phone system is not any better. Especially when clicking the Incognito button fixes it something like 99% of the time.
