Does the Shark steam mop work on hardwood floors?

Just wondering if the Shark will work on hardwood floors without damaging them.

I had a shark and it worked great on the hardwood floors. Of course it fell down the basement stairs and broke and now I have a Hoover and that works awesome on the floors too!

Every contractor or company representative I know in the hardwood business (and I know quite a few) would tell you the worst enemy of hardwood flooring is moisture.

According to QVC it works great on hardwood floors. Of course they did a demonstration. It was so good i almost broke down and bought it. But its not in the budget right now

It works great. The first time you use it, your floors might appear dull. Takes a couple of times to remove the residue from previous cleaners. It doesn't leave any moisture on the floor and doesn't use anything acidic (like vinegar) or abrasive so it doesn't harm the finish. I just wish I'd waited until the bigger one became available.

So how do you wash your hardwood floors without any kind of water?

I use the hardwood floor cleaner that the manufacturer recommended and terrycloth mop that it came with. It is a very quick drying liquid cleaner. It does an excellent job of cleaning and doesn't leave any streaks.

Isn't the cleaner still wet?
The steam mops dry very fast. No water sitting on the floor. I like them because I do not like to use chemicals if I can avoid it.
