Does the Pixie Dust count if you don't KNOW about it? Finally Finished :( 11/24

Hehehe. I am mighty tempted. I am sure it won't take that much convincing.

It's as addicting and cult-like as Disboards...don't say i didn't warn you!!!

You really should come on the bus tour. It's $60 but you get all your meals and 20% off at every store. Plus there is TONS of games and giveaways. It's really fun. I did the one in the Spring. Seriously I was exhausted by the end of the day but I got some great deals and I won over $300 worth of stuff.

I will give it some thought. We are still recovering from huge money spending on vacation. :lmao:

I crop at Scrapbookers Dream in Tewksbury. I've shopped at lots of stores!!! We are going to the Crop Shop on the tour. Any tips? We are also going to The Paper Tree in Manchester, NH, Times to Treasure in West Boylston, MA, and Right at Home Scrapbooking in North Attleboro, MA. I've only been to Times to Treasure before. I love Amandalinz in Amherst NH. It's a hike from you but that place is HUGE (and tax free!!!)

Its Nice, I've Been To Right At Home Its Nice Too. Well, Have Fun On The Tour

Ok how about some pics! Here is one from our flight down (btw, our flights were fabulous...we got in early BOTH ways...when does that ever happen?) We got plenty of attention for our matching tshirts. In general, I couldn't believe all the attention over the shirts and customs. But that is because they were rare. In our entire trip (over than MNSSHP) we only saw two other families wearing customs. During MNSSHP I did see a very familiar Alice in Wonderland custom ;)

Loving your report! What a darling daughter you have princess: I have a really silly question but what were the "customs" you mentioned? The tshirts were adorable from what I could see on the pics but not sure what a "custom" is? Sorry to be so stupid!!

Whoo Hooo get your napkins ready for twirlin’…it’s Breakfast with Mickey Time! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We woke up bright and early on Saturday morning to head out for our first park day. We always go to MK first. This time I thought it would be fun to head to Chef Mickeys for an early breakfast as a way to jump into the fun. I was right! It was great!

We headed over to MK and then caught the Monorail to the Contemporary. We had the bus to ourselves. The driver chatted with us about the new DVC opening at the Contemporary…which I now find funny because Disney made the big announcement a few days after we got home. This bus driver also happened to be an amateur computer builder and gave us a LOT of unsolicited computer advice. The nice part was that he apparently makes computers of spare parts for the immigrant workers at Disney. Apparently Disney employees have no “boss” to go to if they need a day off. Everything is computerized so employees NEED computer access. So there you go…your random Disney fact of the day. popcorn::

DD just ignored all the computer talk and had herself a good time

Anyway, we were onto CR. DD wanted to stop and find Hidden Mickeys and our rush to breakfast was not appreciated by her (I’m neurotic about checking in 15 minutes early for ADRs). As a result, she refused to take the family photo in front of the plate and had a little pout when DH and I informed her that “fine, we’ll take the pic without you” She ended up joining in but the picture featured a smiling husband and wife and a PO’d 4 year old. While we were taking our picture our beeper went off so we got seated early. I was so excited that we might actually make rope drop at MK! We’ve never made a SINGLE rope drop. Either we are in the park already for breakfast or we are still at the hotel. Never at the front of the park. I’ve seen the opening on YouTube but seriously, after all these Disney trips, you think I would have seen it live once!

We sat down and DD was still in a bit of a grump. She decided that in ALL of the buffet, there was NOTHING that she liked. Um, seriously???? I almost had my own meltdown and then I decided, you know what…this is NOT worth the argument. So I promptly announced: Eat whatever you like. Even DH did a double take. Surely this couldn’t be his wife saying this. I sounded so laid back, so easy going, so much like him! :rotfl: So off DH and DD went to get junk food for breakfast. This is what she returned with:

That’s right. Brownies, rice krispie treats, and PB&J pizza. Breakfast of champs right there! Luckily the glass of OJ gave a BIT of nutrition! ;)

Well with the influx of sugar, DD was out of her grump and ready to party! Soon the characters started showing up :cheer2:

The characters actually didn’t start showing up at our table until about 20-25 minutes after we arrived. Luckily they all came quickly one after another. The same can’t be said for our waitress. Now in this trip report you will see that we had some good waitstaff and some “less-than-up-to-Disney-standard” waitstaff. I should warn you now that I have a particular love/hate relationship with buffet waitstaff. My primary issue is…why do we have to tip these people 20%??? Even 18% seems a lot. I should note that I always just suck it up and give them their 20% but I really don’t agree with it at all. They bring drinks. Then they bring your check. That’s about it. Since we aren’t a family who returns to a buffet over and over, they don’t even have plates to clean up.

Now onto this particular waitress. I truly had hopes from her when we arrived. She appeared to be very cheerful for such an early hour. My hopes were quickly dashed when it took me several attempts to clarify that I wanted HOT tea and that my DH wanted ICED tea. There was not a language barrier, I think she honestly couldn’t believe that anyone would want HOT tea in Florida heat. Ok lady, I’m Irish, I can not start or end my day without tea! So after that issue, I was a little concerned. At 8:25am, we were all done eating! YES, we are going to make it to rope drop! We gathered up all our stuff and were ready to run. That’s when our waitress disappeared. LITERALLY. We have no clue where she went. I eventually let DH take DD to look for more hidden mickeys. I sat at the table until 8:45am when she finally came back with my check. I paid (including her 20% tip :headache: ) and ran. We did not wait for the monorail, we ran down the path to MK…

Did we make it to rope drop???? To Be Continued!

Yea! I am caught up including your PTR. Really enjoying your report and your photos. DD is precious!

Your DD's facial expressions are priceless! She is so adorable. :goodvibes

I would have been going nuts at CM's with the waitress. That just makes me certain that I will be asking for my check right away because I don't want to be held up!

Thanks for reading and for the compliment! She's precious sometimes ;)

Are you procrastinating at work again :ssst: :rotfl:

Sorry...i missed this post before. "Customs" are outfits custom made for your child. I should have explained that. A lot of my readers are fellow Disboutiquers (ie the crazy people who sew their kids Disney outfits :rotfl:) and i forgot to explain for the others.

So the Winnie the Pooh outfit in the Boma pics, and the Minnie Mouse dress in the Chef Mickey pics...those are customs

THANKS for reading!!! :yay:

Hi! I am so loving your report! Your daughter's dress is so cute, as are all of you!

My heart sunk into the pit of my stomach when I read that you were in a concierge room and they didn't tell you! Oh MY!!!!!!!

I do love the AKL! Last time it wasn't as great as the previous 2 times, but we never had flat screen tv's! And robes - even when we were on concierge once we didn't have robes.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip...

HI! Thanks for reading

My heart sank too when I got home and finally realized that we had been upgraded. i just wanted to peek in the concierge lounge! But I do have to say, as nice as it was, I would never pay for it. The turn down service was almost silly. One day we were napping and they knocked on the door to turn down the bed. They insisted on making our beds to turns them back down again :confused3 I did wear the robe every day though! :thumbsup2

Thank your for the compliments on the dress. It was my first dress. I was a little annoyed the the dots didn't match up perfectly in the back but I didn't really notice it when we were there.

Oh I would have had a major meltdown if I had to wait for my check like that. UGGGH. I also would have written a note to her supervisor. 20 minutes is too long to leave a table unattended at a restaurant.

I did ask other servers if they had seen her and apparently NOBODY had. I don't know if she went out for smoke or what but she definately wasn't IN Chef Mickeys! I was actually contemplating if she was moonlighting as Minnie or something. :rotfl: I don't think Disney would have been too happy about it. Let's face it...it's about turnover and getting another family to spend $100 on breakfast in there!!!
