Does the Concierge Collection ever change?

I was wondering if Disney ever adds to (or subtracts from) the hotels and resorts in the Conciege Collection. I know that this is not necessarily the best use of points, but since we like to take a wide variety of vacations, this is something of interest to us.

Thanks!

Thanks, Jim. I think I was more wondering if, historically, they HAVE ever changed. We're new to DVC, so we don't know this sort of info. Have those of you who have been members a while seen the Concierge Collection change over the years?

Thanks!

Yes, there seem to be changes every year that I can remember. For example, the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin used to be an option and isn't anymore. We stayed there on points in December 2002. There are a couple others I can't think of off the top of my head. Others have been added.

Things like the Concierge Collection and Disney Collection can and do change frequently. The number of points for those change frequently as well. I believe the CC is renegotiated every other year, and the DC is renegotiated at least that often, and maybe annually. Since these are hotels and resorts not a part of the timeshare system, the cost with them to exchange must be negotiated by DVD to determin what the point value should be. It's one of the reasons those types of exchanges are not the best use of points. While I think the II exchanges can be feasible "deals" for week exchanges, I think the CC and DC are way too many points per night to make them viable options.

I have noticed there are changes every year. Some new resorts may be added, and some others may be removed. And some resorts have been there year after year.

On average it's probably about 3 or 4 changes a year. (My estimate)

if you are looking for specifics, I know that the Shelburne Murray Hill Suites in NYC used to be offered through the concierge collection, and was taken off this year. also, big Cedar Lodge in Branson used to be offered and no longer is.

We stayed at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs on points 2 years ago. I do not think that hotel is still listed under Concierge Collection.

I seem to recall the Kapalua Bay Resort in Hawaii being part of the Concierge Collection before, but it's not on the list any more.

We used Concierge Collection to stay at Big Cedar Lodge last Sept. And is now no longer on the books.
