Does the Boarwalk do this for everyone?

We came back to our room the first night to find a linen napkin on our bed with a large white plate with chocolate drizzled around the edges and chocolate truffles surrounding a large white chocolate candybar (I think that is what it is, its too pretty to unwrap!) with the Boardwalk picture on it. It is being held up by a chocolate picture bracket...very very nice...it came with a card saying welcome home....really a nice touch!!

We didn't get that, but we did get something. We were there for my son's 6th birthday, and when we arrived there was a small bunch of balloons, assorted candy (full-size Snickers, Twizzlers, Hershey bar, etc.) and a birthday card from Mickey & Minnie.

Did you tell them you were celebrating anything? Sometimes the resorts will do things like that if you tell them ahead of time you are celebrating.

In December 2010 my family and I happened to get the same thing mentioned by the OP as a welcome back gift from their Club Level Cast Members.

What a nice welcome, they definitely don't do it for everyone. We were there a few months ago celebrating our 1 year anniversary and didn't get anything special but that was okay. I think it part of what makes it magical is that it doesn't always happen so you can enjoy things like that even more when they do. In our case I made my own magic by ordering custom mini-cakes .

Nope! We celebrated out 25th anniversary there and didn't get anything and we've also celebrated kids' birthdays but got nothing then either. Even those these were noted on our reservations.....

I have stayed there several times and received that wonderful surprise only the last time we stayed, in November 2010. Very nice, isn't it?

OP ~ were you staying club level? If so, we have received wonderful suprises like that at various resorts while staying club level. Not every time, but most times.

No, we werent celebrating anything and we were not club level. We had 2 rooms, and received this in each room!

We were staying at the BWV's for our 25th anniversary a few years ago. We went to Epcot, our room was not ready. When we go to the room, there was a HUGE basket, with assorted cheese, crackers, fruits, chocolates, flowers, sparkling water, and a card signed by the BWV staff (and no we are not DVC members). And at every of the WDW resort restaurants we recieved, a complementary bottle of wine and/or champagne, a complementary apptzer, and desserts. (and no we were not on the WDW dining plan). We got a lot of pixi-dust on this celebration!

WOW, that sure is a lot of pixie dust. I can't believe you got a free bottle of wine, a free app, and a free dessert at every restaurant. Lucky you.
