Does Teppan Edo have a view?

I'm thinking about trying Teppan Edo for the first time, and it looks like the best time for our plans will be around 7:30. I want to see Illuminations too, though, and am afraid we could be "trapped" inside. So, tell me please, is Teppan Edo considered a good place to watch the fireworks (if so, I'll make reservations for a little later) or does eating there prevent you from seeing anything at all (I'll try to make reservations a little earlier, so we're definitely outside in time)? Thanks for any suggestions!

Just ate there couple weeks ago, table rooms have no windows and the windows in hall do not face Illuminations.

Teppan Edo has no view but sister restaurant Tokyo Dining has a gorgeous view from one of the window seats.

I thought so (thank you for the pix, HopperFan!) but also seemed to remember seeing something once about an amazing view from Japan (thanks for clearing that up too, samsteele).

I'll make earlier reservations (really want to try the at-table cooking experience) so we're done in time. I think I'm finally ready for my ADR window next Wednesday!

We love Teppan Edo, great food and super fun show! You will be seated with other people, which we like.

One thing you can do is eat a little early and then right around 9 just stand on the balcony outside. It is honestly one of my favorite views. I try not to block those eating at Tokyo Dinning but the balcony is normally empty so it isn't an issue.

My sister and I ate here last year, sat with a great family and we had so much fun! Lots of food and it was REALLY good! Enjoy!!

Teppon Edo is decent...No better or worse than your local hibachi type joint. I personally love TOKYO dining though!!

That's an interesting idea -- is the balcony supposed to be for anyone, or just people dining at the restaurants? I wonder why it's not crowded for the fireworks? Thanks for the tip!

It is for anyone. Most people don't think of it because it is all the way at the back. I love the way it looks from there.

Agreed, We did this for a 5 minute stint of Illuminations back in 2014....Pretty good view too.

I'm taking a risk even going to a hibachi-type Japanese place! I'm going with DD13, who until last April would eat just three things. And Cheerios, which are in a category all by themselves.

For the last 10 months, she has slowly been expanding her base, and I've convinced her that there will be enough for her to enjoy on her plate here. But the real draw will be having the chef at our table. We've never been to any place of this type (as you might have guessed) so it will be our test case and the best food of its kind in our experience!

Maybe Tokyo dining for her next graduation...

Your daughter should be OK with this. The chicken dish at Teppan Edo is straight forward & if I remember correctly, doesn't even touch the noodles or rice on her plate. She will receive her own dipping sauce (yum yum sauce) in a separate dish so she can decide if she wants to dip or not. Think it should be a good choice for a teen branching out with foodie choices

She'll have a Blast if this is the first time for sure...Tokyo dining to us/ for us was a totally different experience....Just well managed & very good sushi and stuff.. We thoroughly enjoyed...Either way Enjoy your TS @ T.E.

Surely you have experience with this -- you must have had, to know how reassuring it will be for me to pass on the info about food not touching other food on the plate, and how much more confidence it will give her to try it. Patience, and small steps (and I'll have to check ingredients for peanuts in the sauce -- her food allergy that kind of started it all).

They are very good with food allergies. Her food will be cooked before anyone elses and they will make sure there is no peanuts. If it can't touch just make sure the chef knows.

LOL I have taken fussy pre-teen nieces to WDW. One even ended up loving Teppan Edo. But way more important: I was that fussy pre-teen when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. At that age, food touching is just . . . no. Especially when tired on vacation. Word of warning: hide your credit cards when you walk into the Mitsukoshi Store below the restaurant. Pre-teens and that store. Those cards will melt.
