Just to clarify -
It's been a while since have flown Southwest. Are you saying that if I book a round trip ticket, and the fare went down for one of the flights, I would only have to change the flight that is reduced and not cancel the entire trip in order to get the reduced fare?
In the past, I would book two one way flights (one outbound and one inbound) in case the fares on one of the flights went down. Then I would cancel and rebook the flight with the lower fare. This way I did not risk paying more for the other flight if it had gone up in price.
you just open your account with flights listed. Select the one you want to change. Select the same flight (or different one) at lower price and click complete. You will get a page showing the new price and credit. Just remember that you will have to click complete a second time on this page. I almost missed that button. Very easy of course it seemed too easy to me and I kept trying to look for a catch before I would try it.
