Does someone you know do this... (gross)

The female leaders in our Boy Scout Troop get that attitude all the time from 3 of the male leaders. Its like talking to a wall sometimes.

Yes my friend's husband. I refuse to spend time w/either of them (he is always with her, she's never allowed to do stuff alone). No matter how correct you are, he'll argue something else. Drive mes nuts.

I think it happens to everyone Laura. And I dont think that people who do this on a regular basis realize they do it. Nor do they realize how it makes others feel.

My father has been a bldg. contractor for 50+ years. When he says something to a customer it bugs me they dont trust him or his judgement enough to come back with something like "well my BIL told me you should do it this way." Well thats OK, but what does your BIL do for a living? "Hes in sales." Well yeah, that should qualify him in the bldg. business!

It happens to me as well and I have been in the same business for 21+ yrs.

I am like a employee of ours says,"that is why I get paid the big bucks." So Joe Schmo down the street can tell me how to do it. ::yes::

Okay you guys are really freaking out for no reason about poop in a pool!

A pools filter should turn over the pool in X number of hours...in that X 90% of impurities are taken out of the water, and this is BEFORE chlorine or bromine comes in to play..

Take this for instance.

One of the pools I run, the Chlorine and PH are on the dot....8 sand filters are on 24/7....someone poops in the pool, I vacuum the poop/pool....within 4 hours, my 500,000 gallon pool has turned over 1 complete time. Meaning every gallon of water in the pool has run through the filters...not even to mention the thousands of gallons that are going through my vacuum filter....in 8 hour- the pool's been filtered twice.

Most states do not have laws for fecal material in a pool (public pools etc.)...HOWEVER even though VT does not, I go by the NPSI and close my pools down for 24 hours...and I DO NOT shock my pool during tha time. If your chemicals are on the dot to begin with, and your filters are running...no reason to shock.

Sorry to sound so snooty, but I'm more than qualified to tell you what I"ve told you, I'm not only a family pool owner, but a AFO/CPO, nationally certified

My darling MIL is like that. Makes me crazy!

Sorry to hear about your pool. I hope everything came out ok in end. :teeth:

My DH does it sometimes, but my mother is worse!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a nurse, have been for 21 years. She will call me and tell me some medical thing that's wrong with one of her firends, and I'll say "Oh, it's probably this and such and they'll treat it this way" and then she'll go "Oh no, Gloria (her best friend who reads medical books but is not trained in any way in any type of medical profession!!!) says it's blank and they'll do X". I'm always like "Well, sure Mom, Gloria would certainly know more from reading the Readers Digest Guide To Medicine & Health than I could have possibly learned in 21 years as a nurse!"

So this has become the butt of your jokes eh???

LOL

Brandy, Thanks for your insight. But for my own peace of mind, I have held the CL level above 10 for 2 1/2 days now, I have scrubbed the liner from top to bottom, and today I will vac to waste and backwash the filters. I wanted to make sure everything was dead.... It may be over kill, but at the same time I dont want the 100 plus people who use our pool this summer to get sick from our pool.

Our pool will reopen this weekend.
