Never stayed here or even seen it but how do guests typically get to the parks? Is it walking distance? Or do they run an shuttle/tram?

Oh, it is definitely walking distance. It is right across the street form the GCH. Don't follow the signs on the PPH property to get to the gates of DL or DCA. That path will seem endless and you will be cursing the fact that you chose to stay at PPH. What most of us do is take the 'short cut.' What you will do is go out the front of the PPH, past the Valet parking guys, veer a little bit to the left and walk to the crosswalk. Cross the street to the GCH and cut through the gorgeous lobby, then head out onto DTD and to the parks. Not only is this a shorter way of doing it, but a more entertaining way, I feel. Then, just reverse the process on the way back - take DTD to the GCH, cut through the GCH lobby and out the front entrance, veer to the left, walk to the crosswalk and cross the street to the PPH!

In the future, you will be able to hitch a ride from Simba guest lot to the front of the park...

No ETA on when that service will start though.

Nice description...sounds VERY doable...however, I feel like a dork...we stayed at the Grand in Feb and had a room that over looked the Grand's entrance and as I looked out many nights I saw the Disneyland hotel but I can't even recall seeing the PPH??? I've got to pull up my picutres cuz I KNOW Dh and I took pics.

Is there a good map or ariel photo I can look at?

I had one of those GCH rooms that overlooked the entrance too so I know the view you are talking about. The PPH is there, but since I am not there to point it out, it is hard to describe. And I don't have a map or aerial view to share off hand. More than likely, a map will make it look farther away than it is. You have to actually walk out of the entrance of the GCH and veer towards the left to see how close the PPH is right across the street, and you have to actually walk out of the front of the PPH and veer left to see how close the GCH is across the street. That's where the Lilo and Stitch breakfast is, and lots of folks go to that and then walk over to the parks so you know it is not far. The only thing it has working against it is that it is on the opposite side of the street from where DTD, DLH and the parks are, and it is a smaller hotel than GCH or DLH. Otherwise, yep, it is right there! My friend would complain heartily if it were a far walk, but she is okay with it.

PPH is just right across the street from the GCH. It doesn't look Disney from the outside tho...just looks like another hotel really.

YES!! They have a shuttle!!!I have stayed at the PPH several times and they do indeed have a shuttle.. They have a extra long golf cart that will pick you up in front of the PPH and take you to the area by Compass Books, so you are just right there to take a short walk to the Monorail. ;):tink:

I think there was recently a question in another thread, though, as to whether or not it was currently running. Hence, Albort's above post about the one that is going to run in the future. In any case, in all the times we have stayed at PPH, there has not been a shuttle running that we have seen while we were there - then again, we just walked across the street to and from GCH. The only way a shuttle would seem necessary to me is if I had mobility issues OR if I followed the signs on the footpath of PPH's property, which take you to the parks the 'long way.' But taking the short cut and walking across the street is much easier to us.
