Does POP have elevators? and other questions.

Due to some possible nasty weather coming in, we're leaving a day early and staying one night at POP before moving to BWV. Of course I've done no research on this resort, but I have 2 rooms reserved for Saturday night.

I think I messed up on my requests because I didn't look at a map first. I paid for prefered view, but I told them we wanted bottom floor (no stairs) and close to parking. Now that I look at a map, I see that the prefered building is not close to any parking. Also, in case we don't get our request for bottom floor, does the buildings have elevators? and where are they located?

Thanks!

The buildings do have elevators, they are at the cross point of the "T" shape.
The preferred buildings are close to the main (check-in and food court) building, but a little further walk from the parking lot. If you paid a significant premium for preferred, you might want to call them and switch to standard. Especially if you don't plan on taking advantage of the preferred location (i.e. food court, pool, shop).

Hi Jenifer!

This is off topic however I see you live in Lexington and wondered what you know about the Kentucky Horse Park area? We are going to a soccer tournament Memorial weekend there and staying at the Marriott Griffin Gate. I believe the tournament is played at fields in that general area..

Also how is your weather usually that weekend?

Thanks and sorry to get off track!
Diane

Thanks, mochabean! I think I'll call back in the morning and change it.

DianeV,

The Marriott Griffin Gate is a wonderful resort. You'll like it.

Although I haven't been to the Horse Park in quite some time, it's pretty neat place to visit. I believe they have horseback riding, there's a museum, and they hold events there. I don't know what they've got going on that weekend but since it's a holiday weekend I bet there will be something. The big Rolex horse thing is held there every year and it a big deal, on TV and such, but I'm not real sure when it is. They also have festivals and concerts there. Blues Fest is there every year.

If you want to you can PM me your address and I'll call them and have them send you some info. It would save you a long distance call. Are the soccer tournaments going to be at the Horse Park?

Oh, May is nice weather. Too bad you won't be here at the begining of May around Derby Time!

If you want quiet you might want to change your reservation to a standard room since the 60's building is near the main pool area and kind of loud with voices from the pool and music. Don't worry about the parking, it's a short walk through the main building and out into the parking lot out front. We had requested first floor also and they accomodated our request, despite the resort being pretty full. If we stay there again I'll pay for the 60's building because I liked the area a lot and don't mind the noise.

Have a nice trip! :wizard:
