Does pool hopping include being able to reserve a cabana?

So, we are DVC members at BLT, have rented cabanas there many times, but miss the days before we were DVC when we would rent cabanas at the Grand Floridian.

Since I think we can pool hop at the Grand (correct me if that is wrong), will we also be allowed to call ahead and reserve a cabana at the Grand for the day?

Thanks!

:confused3 Never received an answer, so just checking again to see if anyone knows...when I call to reserve a cabana they don't seem to know.

Anyone???

I don't have direct knowledge but I would be shocked if you were allowed to do so since the ability to PH is limited by capacity as well as by dates and resort. If you were allowed you could get in a situation where you paid for the cabana and were asked to leave or were denied access due to capacity issues. I would also expect PH to be removed for the GF in the next few months.

I too doubt you can do it with pool hopping. Even the WDW website says you have to be a guest staying at the resort to rent them.

Cabanas can be rented by Guests of the following Walt Disney World Resort hotels:

Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney's Polynesian Resort
Guests must be staying at the Disney Resort hotel where the cabana is located and will need to present a room key at time of cabana check-in. One Guest in the party must be at least 18 years old.

I would also say that the answer has to be 'no. since pool hopping is restricted by available capacity on the day. So, even if you could reserve a cabana as a non-GF guest, you might arrive at the pool to find there is no capacity that day and be turned away.

Why not call the phone number you would call to reserve the cabana, tell them where you are staying and that you're a dvc member and see if they will let you rent one.
