Does party size affect if you get a reservation?

I was wondering if I am trying to get a reservation to a hard to get restaurant - e.g. Be Our Guest - and tried to enter different party size, would I have a better chance of getting a table?

For example, I am looking for a table for 2, but never have luck. If enter a table for 4 (because it's more popular), would I have better luck getting a table?

I'm trying everything I can think of to get into BOG! Thanks!! Liz

Exactly when are you trying to get into BOG. I have tried everyday in September and October and there is nothing available for any size party. I do not think the difference between 2 and 4 would make a difference. 2 or 12 maybe. The place is more than likely booked to the max. All you can do is keep trying and hope some one cancels. This is one of the spots that require a credit card. Most folks will cancel in the 24 to 48 hour before there reservation to make certain they are not charged. I would check 25 to 48 hours before I want to eat there. Stop in at guest relations the day before. You might get lucky.

Yeah agree, try a bigger size start with 3 or 4. Keep in mind the up front credit card charge, but they will not turn you away if you show up with only 2.

Have a great trip.

It really varies. Usually a party of 2 should be the easiest to accomodate, but I remember booking 'Ohana last year (we were actually a party of 4), and the best times available were for parties of 6. Same thing happened to us with ppo CP ADRs. So, it can't hurt to try. BoG is so hard to get that you really have to vary up your "stalking" just to have a chance at getting anything.

I was trying to book an adr for one at Boma during my trip in Sept and the only time coming up was 7:45 pm! I tried looking for a table for two and was able to get a 6 pm. I'll probably call to drop the extra person, but I don't think it'll be big deal if I don't.

As far back as I've been using the system (and, reportedly by dining CMs I've talked to, further) there has been an issue with odd numbers. For whatever reason, it doesn't see a party of odd numbers the same as even numbers, and since most tables are set up for even numbers, it gets funky with results at times.

Solos have it even worse, as some restaurants ('Ohana for example) don't seem to recognize it as a party-size at all and will show no availability for 1 while there's plenty for 2 and more. It's all rather silly.

At any rate, when booking for odd numbers, always try adding one if your times aren't what you're looking for. The only exceptions to this will be the prepaid stuff (CRT, HDDR, etc), since you have to pay when you book.

For the OP, if 4 gets you better times, then 4 gets you better times. I personally don't go higher than +1, but I'm also considerably more flexible in my planning (being solo has it's advantages.)
