I always get the organic peanut butter for DD and once it is opened I put it in the fridge. Once you get it mixed up, keeping it cold will help slow the separation of oil.

No, it doesn't need to be, but refrigeration does help with the oil separation. I don't refrigerate mine, and when the oil separates, I just stir it well.

I buy Skippy natural and it doesn't need to be stired. I also don't refridgerate it.

I refridgerate my natural pb. I've tried a few different brands and I'm pretty sure they all said to refridgerate. I find that I need to let it sit for a few minutes at room temperature to better spread it.
