Does my trip sound realistic???

Hi !!!Newbie here!! I havent been in years and Im already a bonafide Disney Freak!
Im a single mom and I will be traveling with two kids ages 5 and 2 . I have a magic your way package for May 1- May 6. We will be staying at the All Star Movies Resort with the quick service dining plan. I just did not to want to have to do a sit down meal everyday and have to be at a certain place at a certain time etc. I will also have exactly $1000 cash for souvenirs,food etc.

Ill be getting the $300 gift card and I want to use that for some of the sit down meals. I dont plan on doing too many sit down meals.

Day 1 - go to downtown Disney and eat at TREX restaurant, come back to the hotel and swim and enjoy the resort.

Day 2- Magic Kingdom and dd's Bippidy Boppidy Boutique(paying cash)
Day 3 - Animal Kingdom
Day 4- MGM Grand and a sit down dinner I think one of those places called sci fi or prime time cafe. I dont know which one is at MGM Grand
Day 5- Magic Kingdom again and Crystal Palace Character Breakfast (paying cash)

I know I left out Epcot but I dont think my kids would enjoy it or even be vaguely interested in the countries.. Is my 2 year old ,old enough to ride Soaring ???? I need something that all 3 of us can do and enjoy. My son can not sit through a movie for 5 minutes so i doubt i'd be allowed to do a show or two . I may still do Epcot on Day 1 especially If my flight arrives early enough .

I want to ride the tower of terror and the rock n roll coaster ...Should I use some of that $1000 to get a baby sitter for a couple of hours OR should I wait until my youngest is 4 years old and able to go to the disney child care center .Im not too wild about having a stranger watch my kids .

For me-- we are going with a 4.9 year old
This trip revolves around her and her schedule. If there is something we cant do because she is tired-- or not tall enough or afraid to do- we will save it for another time.

We leave the park before she gets too tired or irritable. Dont schedule night time activies since Rope Drop is very important for my touring plans

I dont know if I could spend some of my hard earned money for a babysitter so I can ride rides.

I'll attempt to answer your questions (in red below).

Day 1 (5/1/10): This plan sounds very reasonable as you will be tired from the plane ride and the kiddos will need some rest before MK the next day.

Day 2- Magic Kingdom and dd's Bippidy Boppidy Boutique(paying cash).

Day 2 (5/2/10): Since you are traveling alone with two small kids, the best way to tour MK and maximize everyone's enjoymen would be with a nice touring plan. Have you considered using the Unofficial Guide? Here's their website: http://www.touringplans.com/tp2/UG2_index.php?PageID=0 For less than $10 they'll customize a touring plan for your entire stay.

Be forewarned that MK has Extra Magic Hours that evening so it will get more crowded at night. Spectromagic evening parade will happen at 9PM and Wishes fireworks at 10PM.


Day 3 - Animal Kingdom

Day 3 (5/3/10): This is a perfect day for Animal Kingdom as it will be opening for morning EMH at 8AM.


Day 4- MGM Grand and a sit down dinner I think one of those places called sci fi or prime time cafe. I dont know which one is at MGM Grand.
Day 4 (5/4/10):
This park is now called Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS), no longer MGM. Both The Sci-Fi Dine in Theater and 50's Prime Time Cafe restaurants are located at DHS. Btw, good sit down choices with little ones. Just make sure you make reservations ahead of time, if you haven't already, as there is high demand for sit down meals due to the dining plan.

Day 5- Magic Kingdom again and Crystal Palace Character Breakfast (paying cash).

Day 5 (5/5/10): Good choice of character breakfast for your little ones. Again, if you haven't already, do make ressies on line or over the phone as soon as possible.

Your youngest won't be tall enought to do Soarin.' So you won't be able to do that ride unless there is another adult with you to do a Rider Swap.

You won't be able to do this with a 5 and 2 yr. old. The only way you could do this is if you travel with another adult and do the Rider Swap. Otherwise you are correct in assuming you would have to hire a babysitter while you do these rides alone. Personally if I were in your situation I would wait until your youngest is 4 yr. old and able to stay at the resort child care center for a couple of hours while you ride the big thrill rides. It all depends on your comfort level with a babysitter at the parks instead.

Just make sure that they know the plan is to help out with baby swap (and your son can ride twice, once with you and once with the other person). When you take the kids back to the room for a mid-day nap, he/she could have a few hours of free time in the park.
If not, I would honestly wait until your youngest is 4. There would be more rides available for all of you, and she could stay at the daycare for RNR and TOT (depending on your son, he might want to as well; I know 2 13 yo's not willing to get on TOT, and have grudgingly agreed to go on RNR when we go next year.)
