does my three year old have to order a meal at new Bog dinner?

Husband and I will be traveling with our three kids... age 7,3, and baby. With the new fixed prices do we have to buy a meal for our three year old? He will barely eat anything and between two adult meals and our oldest child’s meal he will have more than enough to graze. I’m just concerned with the fixed prices that he will need to have a “real meal” since he will be three. Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, at 3 you’d have to buy him a meal. It’s the same policy for character meals, buffets, etc.

That’s a bummer! Difficult enough to justify the cost for a 7 year old but my three year old who enjoys the occasional hunger strike is making me rethink it

My youngest just turned 3 and we are skipping several of our favorite places for our next visit. We basically aren't doing any buffets or prix fixe meals, because I don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for her to eat a dinner roll and 2 bites of chicken.

Seriously. The trip we went from kids to Disney adults was a huge price jump! I wish they’d do junior pricing but that will never happen. Lol

Have you considered doing lunch? Still get to eat in the castle, at much cheaper prices, and you wouldn't have to pay the price fix fee.

Yes, brutal. May will be our first year of that. DD does not eat off regular menus at restaurants at home yet (we always give her the option - her choice). They used to have junior pricing (back when I was a junior and dinosaurs roamed the earth) but apparently have long since done away.

Wait till you eat at the castle for lunch and pay for an adult meal price for a pickey 12 year old, that you actually bring in a peanut butter sandwich that she keeps on her lap and eats only that and will not even eat the ice cream desert because it is vanilla ~ and she only eats chocolate

35 minutes ago I actually just booked her meal with us for BOG (4 of us) I am going to preorder our meals, I think I'm just going to order her a drink and cupcake. She won't eat the cupcake but I want her to sit with us while we eat, I'll share my sandwich with her, which she will not eat. She will prob just get something later and now she is age 20.

I am considering lunch. Unfortunately my husband really is interested in the food on the dinner menu and they all want to meet beast. So not sure yet if I can work that change. But thanks for the suggestion.. I am keeping that option in mind. The dinner is just so pricey!!

They tried that, it was the a la carte dinner menu and a fair number of people would split a cupcake between five people so they could meet Beast.

Are you sure about the junior pricing at Disney? I mean, the "kid" she was 3-12 for dining, but it was changed to 3-9 a lot of years ago, to coincide with the admission ticket pricing.

Now that I look it up, the junior pricing was definitely for park admission (12 to 17 according to a couple of sites). I remember it for buffets but I could be miss remembering since it was so long ago (ended in 1984 for park admission anyway).

They did have junior pricing for food on our very first trip in 1997 because our two nieces were junior age and we did a lot of character meals. We had some sort of meal plan, too, if I remember correctly.

I remember junior meal pricing as well. Our first trip was in the early 80’s and I think we were able to get it for our young ones then.

I remember being at Cape May Cafe with friends and we were happy our 5 year olds were allowed to eat free. That was many years ago.
