Does Kohl's Accept Expired Coupons?

The title says it all. Does Kohl's accept expired coupons? I got a gift certificate for my birthday earlier this month, that I have been holding onto in hopes of getting a Kohl's coupon. Well, I got one in the mail yesterday (30% off) but it had already expired on Wednesday! I am mad, because I have a few things to buy before I go on vacation and if I had gotten the coupon last week, I would have gone last weekend.

Is there anything I can do to still use this coupon? I am so mad that it didn't even cone until after it had expired. Grr!

couldn't hurt to either call and ask or go in and explain the situation. I went in a couple weeks ago, two days after a weekend email coupon expired. I asked the cashier if she had any coupons I could use because I had one over the weekend but hadn't been able to get in to use it. I didn't even have it with me and she just punched into the computer how much I told her it was for. I thought it was really nice of her, but I don't know if they do that normally.

Probably not, as the registers at stores like Kohl's cannot properly scan the barcode.

You may, however, want to take it up with the store manager, who most likely has the ability to override that sort of thing.

Talk to a manager. They will likely honor it, but usually those sales require you to use your Kohl's charge (not a gift card). Possibly if you are buying more than what your gift card coveres (and putting therest on a KOhl's charge) they'll honor it for you.

I've had that happen to me that the mailer gets to me after the sale. Very frustrating!

I would doubt that they'll take the 30% off, but it doesnt hurt to ask.

You also generally have to use the Kohl's card to get it. The way it would normally work with a gift card would be:

Spent $100 on stuff
Gift Card Used - ($50)
Balance Remaining - $50
30% discount ($15)
Kohl's CC - $35 charged to it.

It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask, just explain that it wasn't delivered until after the sale was over. I have had other stores honor them, but I haven't had any experience with Kohls .

As some are saying some of those sales requires you use your Kohls card, but I have been to some Kohls that will accept any form of payment as long as you show them your Kohls card, others won't do that. I am thinking that the last one that came out didn't require you use your Kohls card, if it is the most recent one I received.

You also only have to use the kohl's card for a portion of the sale in order to get to use the deals. Use your gift card and charge $5 on your Kohl's card. However, they may not be so friendly toward this since you are trying to use the coupon after it has expired.

There's another 30% sale coming in in another week or two, I just got an ad in the mail for it. Just hold off and wait for the new sale.

ETA: I found the flyer, it's a "secret scratch" sale (my flyer had a scratch off box to reveal my discount) running Sep. 29-Oct. 6. Mine is for 20% but I bet they have ones going up to 30%. You may want to wait and see if you can get the 30$ off code from the internet and then just order online, you can use your gift cert for partial payment just as easily as you can in-store.

My Kohls will but the one 20 min away will not. It really depends on the store.

If she got the 30% coupon it means the OP has a Kohl's CC. They only send that stuff out to people who have charge cards there.

Our Kohl's was under remodel this Spring and I had a 30% but there was a ton of merchandise that was not out because there wasn't room for it. A manager came up to the register as I was talking to my mom about the fact that the coupon was going to expire in 2 days but there was no little girls stuff on the floor because of the remodel. The manager heard my conversation and said, "We'll honor it even if it isn't currently valid."

I would to go the Kohl's store show them the coupon and see if they'll honor it. You'll have to charge your purchases to your Kohl's card but you can use the gift card to pay off your balance.

I was SOO happy when I saw that I got a cert in teh mail, as I've been waiting over a month since I got the gift cards ($100 worth) for my b-day in August. And when I saw the 30% I got even more excited. Only to be disappointed when I saw it already expired. Grr.

I don't understand - Can I not use the cert with a gift card? I assumed if I put anything onto my Kohl's card, I would be ok. Maybe not???

If I have a gift card what I normally do is have them right up my purchases, then give them the coupon, then hand them the giftcard and follow up with my Kohl's chargecard for the balance. Never had a problem doing that. I've never tried to get the % off when only using giftcards.

That is not true. I receive stuff for having a card, but I was also receiving stuff before I got my card. My cousin doen't have a card and she gets some of the offers. I get something from Kohls almost everyday some weeks.

It will be specified on the coupon if you have to use your Kohl's CC. Sometimes you can use the coupon w/o using your Kohl's charge and sometimes it stipulates that you do have to use it.

you can NOT pay your credit card balance with a gift card. In the store I always make sure I spend just over the GC amount and put the balance on my Kohl's card. If you purchase online, as long as you put in method of payment is your Kohl's charge you can put the gift card in for the whole amount and nothing is charged to your card...just did this with no problem.

Yes, they will, because the Kohls cash is considered the same as regular cash and the other is a discount, that is one of the reasons I love Kohls so much. I do believe they will post the Kohls cash first, then the percentage off.

If it didn't expire it wouldn't have one. So thats a silly question to ask. You can not use expired Kohls cash on line, on the Kiosk since it is expired. Employees can not use expired Kohls cash or they will be terminated. Bring your coupon to the casher. They will gladly scan it to see if it was used, not valid due to a return or anything else it may say. The Company has now given us capability do scan it and see if there is still a balance. The amount needs to be taken off manually. So, the cashier gets "Flagged" Lost pervention checks into it and see's the cashier used it as a Yes I can. and the kohls cash is handed into corporate. PLEASE.... If the cashier takes this expired Kohls cash PLEASE do the survey. Give all 5's or Highly Satisfied. If you give nothing less Kohls does not get credit. So what did they do for you? Give you back money you should have used earlier and you gave them no recognition. So Please do the survey for them.
