My son would like to to the Kalahari in the Wisconsin Dells for his 10th birthday in July. Do they ever offer discounts? Thanks!

I don't know about the one in wisconsin dells, but I would try finding a deal at say great wolf lodge then see if kalahari will match it. Good luck!

We stayed at Kalahari last summer. At the moment I can't think of how I got in on a group rate, but I'll do a search and see what I come up with! ok?!?!

We ended up upgrading for $20 / night and had a wonderful suite. Living room, king size bed room/ whirlpool tub, frig, microwave, fireplace and 3/4 bath. The food at the resort restaurants was not good (well, I take that back... the sports bar had great food!)

We purchased a timeshare via ebay (thanks to the disboarders who referred us to that!) We are staying at a 2 bdroom, full kitchen, laundry... ebay Glacier Canyon Wilderness Lodge... not kalahari but you're in the dells!!

Have you been to the dells before?

YES! This is who I used!!! :dance3:

By following them on Twitter, I got a good room rate last year. You will have to read their tweets to find the deals.

We have been to the Dells several times, and have spent most of those times at Glacier Canyon. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! Also, the Wilderness has many great water park areas.

Some of our son's friends were at the Kalahari over spring break and told him about the amusement park, laser tag, bumper cars, etc., which the Wilderness doesn't have, although in our opinion the Wilderness certainly doesn't lack in any area of having fun. Of course, these kids haven't been to the Wilderness and us telling our son that the Wilderness is just as fun, but different, doesn't cut it.

Thanks for all the great information. We are hoping that Don White has some group rates for July. :)

We are timeshare owners at Glacier Canyon Lodge which gives us unlimited waterpark privileges at the Wilderness whenever we want to go, which is frequently. We're actually about to head down there for the afternoon!

We've stayed at the Kalahari as well as Chula Vista in the Dells so we have a lot to compare it to. Kalahari has a lot of nice slides and they do have an amusement park area which is nice. Chula Vista is much smaller and my least favorite of the three, especially in the winter. But at Wilderness there is SO MUCH MORE!

Wilderness has 2 minigolf courses. One has an indoor aquarium. There is a huge arcade with a huge free play structure (like at McDonalds only much bigger and nicer) that the kids love. It has a ball volcano in the middle and you can shoot balls with air guns from up above. There's an area for little ones to play too. There is Laser Tag and Bumper boats also. These things come at an additional cost than the waterpark wristband, but you can buy a combo pass thing that isn't a bad deal at all.

Let me also say that the Wilderness has a lot more waterpark stuff to do. The wave pool is one that Kalahari doesn't have. They probably have about the same number of slides, but Wilderness has a lot more junior and child age stuff.

As far as the rooms go, the Kalahari and Wilderness have about the same kinds of rooms, but the Kalahari has a section that is a very long walk from the water park. The water park is centralized, kind of by their check-in desk, so rooms far away have longer to walk. There are 3 separate indoor waterparks at the Wilderness so your room is usually closer to at least one.

If you stay at Glacier Canyon Lodge, the outdoor waterparks are kind of far to walk to, but the rooms are great with the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. There is a great outdoor park there too if you go in the warm weather.

We have friends with 13 year old boys who have stayed just about everywhere in the Dells and Wilderness is the place they've decided is their favorite. If you have questions, let me know.

We just got back from our day trip to the Wilderness. I picked up a brochure for the Wild Fun Pass, which has other activities in case all the waterpark stuff isn't enough to keep you busy. For $17 you get:
  • 1 Tombstone Town Haunted Hotel admission
  • 1 Tombstone Mirror Maze admission
  • 9 holes of 3-D Mini Golf at Wild Buccaneer
  • 9 holes of 3-D Mini Golf at Wild Abyss
  • 1 Bumper Boat Ride
  • 1 Laser Tag game
  • 8 credits at one of the 3 arcades
  • $1 off an Ice Cream at Pistol Pete's
This saves $15 off of doing each individually. The passes don't all have to be used by the same person either, so you could buy a couple and divvy up who uses what attraction.
