Does January draw big after christmas crowds?

I really really want to go to disney world again next year! The problem is my family only likes to go when it is not crowded, so the last time we went when i was little was the first week of december when the park is near empty. I don't want to take off from college, so I have the whole month of January off and was thinking we could go then. What are the crowds like then? Thanks for your help!

January is usually one of the slowest (if not THE slowest) months. Kids are in school, park hours are shorter, and the weather is not the best.

According to crowd estimates on touringplans.com, crowds really die down after the first few days of January and remain low for almost the entire month.

With the exception of MLK weekend the entire month is usually pretty slow. If you want to avoid crowds it's one of the best times to go. Just remember it may be downright cold as well too. Thats the trade-off.

i went this past january..very little crowds, and it was unusually warm down there..it was great

awesome, even 60 degrees would feel "warm" to me in January when we face 10 and 20 degree temperatures in NJ! Thanks guys

I've been in Jan after our first Christmas trip and boy what a difference. It IS very slow- no lines, etc. But to me it was also pretty cold especially in the afternoons. I'd rather be cold than raining every day though. LOL

The WDW marathon, 1/2 marathon & Family Fun 5K & Kid's races are being held the first weekend of January, but they do not impact the parks as much as they do the roadways around WDW and the Epcot parking lot.

We love WDW in January! It's very uncrowded. Weather can be unpredictable though--you may have 72 degree days or 50 degree days/35 degree nights.
