Does it take longer than a week for your refund?

I recently cancelled a stay booked in June at wilderness lodge to stay at buena vista suites, because it saves me tons of money. I cancelled my reservations on Friday morning first thing. I thought I'd have my deposit and payment in full refunded by now since I used a visa and Amex cards to make the payments. So far, nada.
Does it really take this long when you use a credit card to get a refund? Starting to worry here....

It has never taken longer than 3 days for me to get a refund. That being said....you should know that if you paid with multiple cards, the refunds will come separately to their respective cards in the order that the payments were initially made. :goodvibes

The CM's always say "it can take up to 2 billing cycles", but I've never experienced it taking that long.

Yes, I paid my deposit with visa and the balance 10 days later with Amex. I keep thinking if hey refunded it it would at least show pending in my charge account as a refund, but it's not there.

Saturday and Sunday probably didn't count as business days so you should see it today or tomorrow. If you are worried I would just double check with Disney and then your credit card companies!;)

I cancelled a few months ago to rebook with a TA and had it refunded to my visa within a day or so. The CM did say it could take up to two months though. I would give it a few more days.

I cancelled our reservation and booked a package on Jan 28th. The credit appeared in my account on Jan 31st. I used the same credit card for both the original charges and the new ones.

I called disney and they said that the visa charge was processed 3/24 and the Amex was processed 3/25. My credit card company said they don't see anything pending....what do I do?

I wouldn't do anything. You just need to wait for the credit to process. From my experience I would estimate your credit will show up sometime in the next week. (Meaning between now and around April 3rd.)

I agree. I have seen refunds within 2-3 days of cancelling, but it can take longer depending on your bank as Disney processes things right away on their end.

Refunds, once they hit your bank/CC company, can be really fast or they can take some time. That's why companies end up saying "it can take up to x billing cycles", because they don't know how your particular company/account works. Just be patient. Refunds *can* be immediately seen by the customer, but more often they can't.

Are you worried because you needed that money for something else? I really hope not. Otherwise, don't fret. You will get your money back, but it can take a little time.

The last time I had to cancel a ressie, it took 7 business days before I saw my refund.

Nothing. Disney has done their part by issuing the refund. Now you just have to wait until your account shows it. Depending on multiple factors this can take awhile. I once had a refund (not Disney) not show until the next billing cycle. This is considered a normal possibility.

It's not up to Disney. Time of the refund is controlled by your bank/credit card company.
