Does it really matter which category for HDDR?

We are considering making a reservation for HDDR. Does it matter which category I choose? Is seating on the floor any better than the seating in the balcony or along the sides? Thanks!

You ll have a great time wherever you sit. I don't know ur party size or if there is elderly or very young children. If it is with anyone with a walking or mobility issue, get a table on the floor area. Even with very young kids I'd ask for that seating.
We actually prefer upstairs now, looking down upon the entire show. You actually eat facing away from the stage, then the stools swivel to face the show. It is all very well choreographed so u miss nothing. The CMs serving are just as interactive upstairs as on floor.
When I had a little one we chose downstairs.. but when ur too close ur looking Up at the stage... bothers my neck and I prefer to avoid that now.

It's a great time for everyone at any age. And really good wherever u sit. I wouldn't let the seating deter a visit. And the food is great as well.
Enjoy!!!

Thank you for your review of the upstairs tables - but are all tables up stairs by the railing looking down
Or can some tables be behind other tables and a tall person in front can ruin the view of a short person eating at a table behind them?

No. One time we were on the floor and had a big pole blocking us.
The last few years we've done Cat 3 and seen just fine- don't miss out on any of the fun either -- the performers love to come up & interact w/ everyone up there! We've done all the categories and think Cat 3 is just fine:)

Thanks! We were trying to save a few bucks and it sounds like category 3 will work for us. Thanks everyone!!

Last time I booked category 3, I got put on the floor in the back, which wasn't as good as the balcony, but I figure you run the risk of a bad seat no matter how much you pay, so I go for the cheapest.

We were in category 3 as well and believe that we enjoyed the show as much as anyone. I really don't believe that there are any bad seats in the place.

We always do cat 1. Our first time we were at the center table right up next to the stage. The second time we were three or so rows back from the stage. Both had good views, but the table right up next to the stage actually got attention from the performers onstage. We're doing it again in Nov, cat 1 so we'll see what we get. The performers do also go up to the balcony for the part where they do the bit about where people are from. I don't remember seeing an elevator. There are a lot less seats upstairs as they are all right against the railing so the show can be seen. The show has changed since the last time we were there so it'll be a new experience. We've done Spirit of Aloha and HDDR is a lot better (so is the food). Everyone enjoys the show, regardless of where their seats are.
