Does it bother you to have the blinds open at night?

I can't stand having the blinds open when it gets dark. I feel like I'm in a fishbowl and people can see me, but I can't see them! Spooky!

DH thinks I'm insane. :rolleyes1 Does it bug anyone else to keep the blinds open at night?

Our blinds are always open. We have glass sidelights on the front door.... and two sets of french doors that have no covering.

Doesn't bother me a bit - we have no neighbors. It used to bother my sister when she came to stay but I think she has gotten over it. ;)

Yes. No one in this house would open or close any blinds if I was not here. When I die they will be the way I left them until the house is sold.

It depends. In our living room where we spend most of our time at night and in our bedroom I close them. I don't bother closing the kitchen ones because once it's dark I am hardly in the kitchen. If I am in the kitchen a lot after dark I might close them.

Oh yes, I HAVE to have the curtains closed after dark. We live in the boonies and no one can see us from the road, but it's just the idea. Plus we live on 10 acres of woods. No way I'm going to have the curtains open at night. The boogeyman might peek in.

I have no curtains but have 2" wood blinds on nearly all my windows. The sun sets, I close the blinds. I get up in the morning and I open the blinds. It is part of the routine.

Not at all. I only have swag like curtains in the front of the house, they don't close-just hang to the sides. I have verticals in the living room but they are usually open- I can't stand everything closed in I feel like I am in a shoebox if I can't see the outside world, even in the dark.

The blinds must be closed at night. Come on haven't you seen all those horror movies where the red eyes glow outside the window, or where the psycho is standing there looking in? Blinds closed all the way, not even a little bit open. Yes, my dh thinks I'm nuts. ;)

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: This is always a bone of contention in my house.

I like them open. It annoys me that my neighbors never open their blinds (even in the day). I have no idea whats going on in their houses!pirate:

;)

I like them open during the day if I am home. But at night?? I am literally getting chills up my spine as I read this thread and just think about having them open at night :scared1: . I guess I've seen too many movies where some stupid scared person leaves the blinds open even though Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, the boogey man, and every other ghoul in the world can see right in :scared: :sad2:.

I love to have my blinds closed at night in my roon. I like it really dark when I sleep.

i could care less as long as i'm home...and fully clothed lol.

my mother is like that tho. as soon as it gets dark out the doors get locked, blinds get closed, and all of the outside lights get turned off. it's like she thinks she has Fort Knox in her house or something.

Blinds/Curtains are closed at night. It's a matter of me feeling safe.

I would always hate it when I would babysit and the house didn't have blinds/curtains on some of the windows. I would literally sit with the phone in my hand staring out the window with every single outside light on. The family thought I was nuts!;)

STOP!!!!!!!! You're freaking me out! I'm sitting in my living room at 9:30 at night with the blinds wide open like they usually are and after every post I read I look out the window to see if the red eyed boogie man is looking at me!

It actually doesn't usually bother me. I have a neighbor down the road whose blinds have been closed on every window, day or night, since they built the house. That just seems really strange to me. It's like.......... why have windows??

Okay I'm off to bed so you can continue with your boogieman talk if you must. I'll make sure to close the blinds in the bedroom.;)

I have window coverings on all windows in our house. Three sides of our house face a wooded ravine--nothing out there except owl, deer, coyote and racoons at night (I hope). But, I have the curtains drawn. It gives me chills to even think about not having window coverings closed at night; it just creeps me out.

I could never have been an astronomer or astronaut. I get creeped out and chills just looking into the night sky on a clear, cold night. The other night, I was setting out some leftovers for the wild like. I was planning to set it at the edge of the ravine, but, I lost my nerve, and had to leave it on the front lawn. Maybe I'm a little crazy, too.

Yes. I never do. I don't think it's safe at all.

My mom has hers up all the time. She does live in a subdivision, but still...I just don't think it's a smart thing to do.

Most of the acton here in the city happens when it's dark so being snoopy like we are we leave them open right until we go to sleep.

I close the blinds at night too. I feel as you do, OP. That everyone can see in.
