1) an area where we can barbeque?

2) refillable mugs?

I am really looking forward to our first trip to HHI with DH, DS8, DD4, DS1 and meeting another family. We plan to just hang out and enjoy time with nothing to do but relax!

There are bbq pits and campfire sites throughout the resort. I don't believe they have refillable mugs (although I could be wrong).

Yes, they do have refillable mugs. They were about $10 each, and they can be refilled at 4 places at HH I learned this past trip. We could only think of three (Surfman's, Signals, Tide me Over), but asked and learned the fourth. Anyone out there know the fourth place, I thought it was a great trivia question. My 3 kids could not wait to get theirs again in April, and after we checked in at 8:45 AM we went straight to the snack bar and purchased them. As my DD (6) stated at the time "Let the fountains start flowing!"

You can get them filled at the general store!! We know this because we spent SO much time there BUYING out the store and everytime we were in there we got the kids' mugs filled! And the kids always took the mugs with them when they went out bike riding, so they could stop for drinks. We also took them to the activities which were near the store and to the campfires to have drinks with those delicious s'mores!
Just be sure to put names & unit # on the mug AND the lid, so that no one walks off with it by mistake.

Yes, when we asked where the 4th location was, they told us they would fill them at Broad Creek Mercantile after the snack bar closed. We never knew that, nor did anyone else we know.

There are several grills at the south end of the resort and there is a large grill near Big Murggies Den in the lodge area. All require charcoal- no gas grills are available at any of the DVC resorts.
