Looked into my Entertainment Card and they are sold out for our dates.... is there anywhere else I can look for a good deal?

If you're a member of AAA (or CAA... I noticed you're in Toronto), that's probably the next best way to go... there's also an AARP rate. Usually they have an "advance purchase" rate, where you pay at the time of your reservation, but the rate is non-refundable. I'd only do this if you are absolutely sure you are going (or are able to afford giving up the $$$ if you cancel).

You also may want to try calling to see if the Entertainment Rate is available. I've heard instances where the rate wasn't available online, but the person received the rate when calling HIFS directly.

The entertaiment rate is only offered when the hotel expects occupancy to be at or below 80%. Try Gw_lit suggestions BUT if the hotel is almost fully booked you may have to look at other properties.

Are you talking about an Oct. 2004 trip? I have a hard time believing the Ent. rate is sold out, did you call the hotel or are you going off the HI website? If so, definitely call the hotel. We went Oct. of 2003 (leading into Columbus Day weekend) and I think I booked HIFS about 6 months out with the Ent. rate.

Unless the renovations will have a large part of the hotel closed during that time? That's the only thing I can think of

Could someone tell me what the entertainment rate would be? It is telling me that for November it is not available(sold out) Using AAA, my rate was $139 for the Cinema suite but if it is a huge difference, I should call and ask on the phone for the Entertainment rate. I just hate using the phone!!!

Thanks,
Kim

I think you have the best luck getting the Entertainment book rate if you call the hotel directly.

In my Orlando Magicard brochure from last year, it lists HIFS:
Peak season rate $152 and off peak season $125

also

they have a special deal if you are taking any "elderly" people with you. Depending on the age of the person, you get a reduced rate. The older they are, the cheaper the room. Check out their site for specific details.

We're going tomorrow.:p We're paying $103 per night using the entertainment card. I booked it about 3 weeks ago. Did you check for discount codes on mousesavers.com? Good luck.

We got the entertainment book rate toward the end of May, but I called. It wasn't showing online.

Last month we were able to book Oct 30-Nov 4, 2004 with the Entertainment Disc for $79/night. Then last week I called and added a day onto our stay --- I was told that the Ent. discount was still available at the same price of our other nights.

Good luck!

I just called a week ago and got $89/nite for the end of April. (for a kids suite) It seems that nobody is getting the ent. card rate on-line. Just call directly, they were quite pleasant on the phone. Last April we paid $99 for the senior saver rate (my mom was traveling with us) That was age 50-65, then rate went down as you get older. But the AARP rate that is on-line is different. I'm pretty sure you have to call directly for the senior saver rate.

I got the Cinema Suite for $86 entertainment rate for 8/29 to 9/5 and I got it when I called the 800 no. The operator did say that there were only a few Cinema Suites so it could be that they are sold out, but try for the other suites, once you have them on the phone they are very helpful. You should also sign up for the Priority Club you get a couple of benefits like upgrades. Good luck!:teeth:

:earsgirl: :Pinkbounc :wave2: had reservations at $114 per night august 29... just called to modify using the entertainment rate and rebooked at $76.00 per night thanks guys saved over $200 just by reading your post

Futuredisneygal, glad I could be of help, these boards have given me such valuable tips, I'm glad to be able to pay forward!! Maybe we'll see you there since you're going the same time. Have a wonderful time!!

we are staying Sept 25- Oct 2, couldnt get the rate online, was $114 a night, but called and got the E rate of $76.00 for a kidsuite :)

msr709- I signed up for the priority club, what kind of upgrades are there with this?
this is our first time so Im new to everything ::yes::

This is the first time I'm using my Priority Club card but the woman who took my reservation told me that if there is anything available to upgrade to they would upgrade me, she told me to be sure to ask at time of check-in. I've done this with my Loews Card at HRH. I've signed myself on almost every available hotel preferred card club just for things like these but I haven't used all of them. (I'm waiting for a good deal at a Hilton Hotel to use my card there, LOL) I think its good practice only because you never know when you're going to get the better deal or where, and has it turns out it has worked out for me many times! Good luck and have a wonderful trip.

thanks :)

so if I have a kidsuite, how do they upgrade? do certain rooms cost more, maybe ones located in a better area? sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate the help :)

3boysmommy:
In terms of a Kidsuite, the only thing they charge extra for is pool view. I imagine that would be your upgrade. We were "upgraded" our last trip there, and me might actually have been able to see a corner of the pool if not for the huge tree in front of us, LOL. We did have a very good view of the craft table, though :D

Just in case anyone wants to know...
May 30 and 31 I have E rate of $89 and June 8-12 E rate of $109.

I got these rates online, but later a friend called about early June and got the E rate even though website said none avaliable.
