Does having a value dedicated studio booked at AKV eliminate parking lot view?

My concern is that I made my ressies 11 months to the day for every day that we will be there (19 nights in a value - studio, 1br, 2br) and made a request for a savanna (I wouldn't even mind a pool view). But if someone beats me to the check-in desk and gets stuck with a parking lot view (if they didn't have a request on their ressie) then complains, will they be moved to my requested savanna because I have not yet arrived???? It seems like it's just who gets there first. Or is it that they hold the savanna room for us even if the people who beat us there say they don't like their parking lot view and request to move. I'm not sure if I'm getting my point accross

You are not guaranteed a savannah view room even if you check in first. A request is just that! Suppose no value savannah rooms are checking out that day.

We are also told there would be a room change fee, so they do allow people to say, "this isn't for us."

But what prevents someone from 'requesting' right when they are standing at the counter (when I requested 11 months ago) That is what I don't understand.

I don't know what you/we could do about it other than tell MS! Now suppose someone else was booking day by day 11 months out for the very same thing, and somedays you were ahead by a few minutes and on other days the other person was ahead. Who would get the seamless stay? No one? You each have the same request.

A request is just that -- a request. It's not a guarantee no matter how early you booked. If you want a guaranteed savanna view then you need to book a Savanna View room. If you book a Value to save points, then you have to prepare yourself for the possibility of a pool view or even a parking lot view.

As Bobbi already said, there is a very real possibility that the day you check in, there are no Values with a savanna view opening up that day. Maybe everyone staying in one of those rooms is checking out the following day or later that week. Or maybe one of those rooms is being vacated that day but one of the other people who also requested a savanna view was assigned to that room and you were assigned a pool view room. Because they are such a bargain, I expect the Value rooms will be fully booked most of the time so some guests are going to get the parking lot view no matter what they requested.
