Does Haunted Mansion Change?

The last two years DW swears that Haunted Mansion has had some differences in it each time. I'm skeptical and think it's just that it's so rich in detail we don't see everything each time. But she wants me to ask.
Does anyone know? Are features swapped in and out from time to time, or is it always the same?

Basically, always the same.

they have removed a few things. and the plates in the ballroom scene change. But they are not suppose to. unruley cast members like to set them as mickies and the managment has to change it back when they find out.

In one of the scenes in the Haunted Mansion there used to be about 5 busts of men close to the ground. ( One of them, I swear, looks just like Leslie Nielsen ) Anyway, for at least a year, one of those busts had fallen over, broken, but the
face/movie still moves on it.

Can anyone confirm this with me?

I know what you mean about Leslie Nielson and I think I that it had fallen over - I think I thought that seemed different, but thought maybe I was losing it

I think this may be one of the most extensive websites on the Haunted Mansion. It's been some time since I last read through it... I know the creators have found things different and have written about it and taken pictures. It's fun to leaf through :)

Actually that is how its supposed to be. All 5 busts have never been perfect. One has always been broken and fallen over, it was designed and built to look like that.

DW and I had this same conversation after our last visit to MK two weeks ago. We noticed a lot of things that we think may have changed, but we're not certain when or if they changed.

* The shrieks & moans coming from behind the stretching doors early in the ride seemed different. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe they added new sounds, or turned up the volume on them.

* There used to be a chair with a pattern on the back that some people thought looked like a "hidden Donald" in the front left of the scene where the candlabra is floating at the end of a long hallway. Two weeks ago the chair that was there had a plain red back (no white pattern).

* The tattered window draperies in the ballroom scene appeared new to me.

* I don't remember the woman blowing out the candles on the cake in the ballrooom scene being there in the past. (I think it's been there for the past year, but I before that...I'm not sure).

* As the doombuggies decent backwards from the attic to the graveyard, the music seemed more pronounced than it used to be. I think they added a speaker behind the raven on the right.

* There seem to be more full-figure ghouls in the graveyard scene. I recall fewer full-figures, more screaming heads poping up from behind tombstones, and hands pushing up coffin lids.

Not all of these supposed changes happened recently. Some of them I remember from previous visits in the past year, but some seemed new. DW and I came to these same conclusions about all of the above independently, without input from each other, which leads us to believe that either we share soem psychic bond (ha!), or there have been some changes to HM in recent years.

im sure that when it closes for rehabilitation the imagineers mess around with the small details

but nothing MAJOR changes

The chair was taken out because it was damaged at grad night last year (read it on another BB). It's anyone's guess whether it will be back or not.
