I thought I remembered reading something about Fed Ex sponsoring SM. Do they still sponsor it? If so, what does this mean?

Much thanks! :daisy:

No more Fed Ex at Space Mtn.

It didn't "mean" anything as far as the ride was concerned.
There were Fed Ex logos and little "mentions" (TV commercials, audio loops) of a futuristic version of Fed Ex
in the entrance and exit queues of the attraction.
There are vignettes (electrically animated sets) of futuristic and space "locations" that are still seen
in the exit queue that formerly mentioned Fex Ex, but now do not.

No sponsor for Space Mtn. at this time.

Space Mountain does not currently have a sponsor. I really like it this way as well. Since when did Disney park attractions need corporate sponsorship!!??? Obviously it's all about the money, but it's really sort of ridiculous.

Wow, you don't know your Disney history.

Walt had corporate sponsors from the very beginning of Disneyland.

The "ridiculous" corporate sponsors have helped in the creation some of the greatest Disney attractions thoughout the entire time the parks have operated.

Long live the corporate sponsors!!

I do realize and know that, but I still hate it. It's the same as corporations sponsoring sports stadiums and the like. It may be what the park, as well as new attractions are built on, but it does take away from the "Disney" experience having to see corporate logos on rides. I know things like soda, and concessions can't be helped.

On this we completely disagree.

There is nothing wrong with sponsorship.

It is how extraordinarily expensive projects like "Epcot Center" and major sports and civic venues become viable.

WDW is a corporate venture on its own.
Advertising and sponsorships are how "faceless" corporations build good will and communicate with the general public.

Without advertising and promotion, commerce (and the free world as we know it) would grind to a halt.

Disney is not operated as a public service in the first place, but as a commercial business.

There would be fewer (FAR fewer) attractions if ticket prices alone were the total financial support for the parks.

Sponsorships can also make sure that an attraction gets maintained, since a rehab budget often consists of half of that company's money, with the other half being money from Disney.
