I am planning on attending the Extra Magic Hour at the Magic Kingdom meaning it opens at 7am. Will the fastpass machines be open at 7 or do they not open until 8 when the general public is allowed in? Thanks!

Soarin' , Test Track, EE, Safari, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, and Pooh generally DO have FP distribution during AM EMH (and sometimes others like RnR and ToT.)

But at night, whether any given attraction will have FP during EMH totally depends on the ride managers for that EMH.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
It can change daily, with no advance notice,
so it does no good to say if they DID or DID NOT
on any previous day.

IF the FP machines are operating during PM EMH, they "start again" at the beginning of the EMH.

You can get FP during the morning EMH but the return times are for after the park opens- normally at least 30-45 minutes after opening. In other words the machines are open just as they would be any other morning but the FPs themselves don't start until there normal time after opening (FPs while avialable right at opening are not good immeadiately. Normally they begin at the 1 hour mark except on the biggest of rides which begin about 30-45 minutes after opening.

They don't have FPs for use during morning EMH because the lines aren't long enough to make it a need during this time. We can generally ride about 5-6 things during a morning EMH at the MK. (normally we choose Buzz, Space Mountain, Rockets, Teacups, get a Pooh FP for later, Pan, and Small World.)

That makes sense! :thumbsup2 Our Magic Kingdom day is December 27th so I'm trying to do as much planning as possible to ensure we have a productive day despite the crowds.
