Very cool, congrats!! Ok so you're an adult and naming it, it's not just a kid thing. (No offense to kids AT ALL I have 2 of my own) Mine name everything from stuffed animals to bugs outside. Maybe I should think of a name then. Only took us 8 months to think of my son's this should be easy...lol

Thanks to a wonderful DIS member I have a bird hat. Now when wearing it many people have asked me what it's "title" meaning name in VMK talk is. Does everyone name their birds? I never thought to do so. Though I do throw him a piece of popcorn from time to time. I guess I am just once again behind in our little virtual world.

Mine is named Lucky after my cousin's dog which passed in January (our families are very close). It may just be a name but it's better to remember the little guy than forgetting everything about him and pretend he was never there.

I've been thinking about this for a while, but I have to talk to my fiance about it first, since we both use Mnementh. I was thinking that once I give everyone the credits that I owe them and I open my pin trading thread back up, I'll let the person who offers the most pins out of those remaining on my list also get to name our bird.

I wanted to name my bird Teddy, but I can't say it in VMK. And Bear is what a couple people call me and is used for other people. I also believe that someone else named their's bear. So mine is Bear Bird.
I just received another one in trade last night. I don't know what to call him yet.

As for my AK animals, I haven't named any of them yet.

That is the sweetest reason for a name. I like the idea of popcorn, hmm maybe that'll be his name. I will have to think about it for a day or so...lol.

My bird hat is named "hat"
I think it is kinda of weird too. I don't name the other hats in the game.

However, my computer has a name "Hobart".
When you first get a computer you have to set the time, and I found out there is a time zone in Australia called 'Hobart'. Since it is the first time I ever learned from the computer I call the computer "Hobart"

(He was to be Stripe, but can't say that in vmk, so - Spot came to be.)

Now, if that's not enough -

One of my favorite VMK projects that I have ever created is The Sports Zoo at Disney Dreams Field. The zoo used to get a lot of traffic, it is on the DIS river, and me and friends still hang in it somedays. The zoo has many residents:

Swinger the Parrot
Fin the Fish
and of course, the inspiration for the zoo -
Homer the Gopher
and
Grounder the Gopher, Homer's grumpy brother.

Many kids in VMK have had great chats with Homer and Grounder while visiting the zoo.

On the wall of the zoo there are photos of VMK Characters wtih animals in their titles. Many a DIS member are displayed there. Among those photos, are a few birds from players bird hats - all of which have the bird titles!

So, as for your question: Was there ever a second thought about naming your bird or giraffe?

Nope, you're not the only one. I talk daily to my giraffe Mimi (me.me on vmk) and I sing to her as well. Either we are all not well in the head or we are quite normal. I vote for "mental issues".
