I just got home and had a message on my answering machine that said I had a Fed Ex package that would be delivered tomorrow by 7 and that it would require a signature and someone over 21 with a government issued photo ID to get it. I'm not sure what it is because we are relatively new DVC members, but I'm assuming it has something to do with our contract and the 2012 year.:confused3

Is there a way to make it so that if they send things in the future they do not require a signature? We live about an hour from a Fed Ex location, and I sure don't want to drive to pick up packages if they can just leave them with my permission. Just thought I'd ask and see if any of the experts knew the answer. TIA!

Did you already return your signed contracts? If you have, then I can't imagine why they would be sending you something that had to be signed.

Did they give you the tracking number? You could look online to see if it lists who it is from.

You need to notify FedEx that you want to submit a release for anything sent to you.

I think I figured out what it is. We had a referral, so I think it's our "Share the Magic" reward. That's the only possible thing it could be. Can someone verify if they had to sign for their gift card? We had our contract a long time ago. We bought on our DCL cruise to Alaska the beginning of June.:goodvibes

DVC just sent me a check for my Aulani contract that I sold back to them and FedEx left the envelop by my front door.

No signature. Didn't even ring my bell. Opened the door that night and there it was.

No big deal - it was only a check for about $20,000.

Well, I can't imagine why they'd have me sign and show a photo ID for $200 then.:rotfl: I guess we'll see what they bring tomorrow. It's definitely DVC though. I did go to Fed Ex's site and tracked it. I just hope I'm home when they deliver it tomorrow!

We had a pre-paid visa sent to us as part of our incentive for our add on and it was sent Fed Ex and required a signature.
We got a call the night before they planned to deliver it.

I got a call as well tonight saying they would deliver it tomorrow. However, it's due to be delivered some time before 7:00 p.m.:confused3 I don't get home from work until 4:30, so I'm just hoping it's after that! Can't wait to get my gift card though!:goodvibes

We got a gift card recently for a referral we made and we DID have to sign for that.

The people we referred also got a gift card as part of their incentive for buying, and THEY had to sign for theirs as well.

They must have just sent out a batch of gift cards...so annoying. Must be signed by someone over 21 in person, no releases allowed.

Fed Ex just came and delivered my Share the Magic reward!:cool1: I guess I must not look like I'm under 21 though because they didn't ask to see my government issued photo ID.:rotfl: Thanks for the responses to my thread. Now I just need July to get here so I can spend some Disney money!

I don't recall ever having to sign for any FedEx deliveries for any of my direct DVC point purchases through DVD. I have purchased through DVD three times now.
