Does Disney require an adult in each room?

I am a tour director for high school bands and choirs. I have groups of 80-200 students at WDW 6-8 times a year, often at a value resort. There is no requirement that an adult be in each room for these groups. I suppose it depends on how it is booked.

One variation from a typical Disney resort reservation is that the students' magic bands can only be used as a room key. They have to use their ticket cards for park entry and fastpasses.

(Technically, we could give them their resort reservation confirmation codes to link everything in MDE, but Disney asks us not to give that to minors.)

I happened to be checking into Allstar Sports once and over heard a family that they were guaranteed connecting rooms but yet they did not get them. There was nothing that could be done either. Fortunately both parents were there so one parent had to stay in each room. Not what they wanted but what was needed and was done

Disney does NOT guarantee connecting rooms no matter the party makeup. They will say they do, but they don't. Read the fine print on the reservations and spend some time on the resort boards. You will see quickly that it is not guaranteed.

im taking my daughter and 3 friends to Disney to celebrate her Sweet 16. Considering 2 budget rooms, preferably next door to each other, but I am the only adult going, so if we get 2 rooms, only 1 will have an adult registered. Will Disney allow this?

The OP doesn't NEED guaranteed connecting rooms. She just needs to know if she can book with only one adult. It sounds like she can.

Not surprisingly, once again, a disney phone rep gave wrong information. Connecting rooms are not guaranteed - ever.

Not only that, the rep even used the wrong term for rooms with a door between them. Door = connecting. No door but next to or even diagonal corners (or in places with rooms on either side of a hall, across the hall) = adjoining.

I think because there were 2 parents in the above example then Disney won't guarantee a connecting room. Since the OP will be the only adult in the group then Disney will guarantee it. I only know this because of what I overheard while waiting in the checkin line at AKL. A family requested 2 connecting rooms & they didn't get it. I overheard all if it because the parents were yelling at the CM. the CM said since there were 2 adults in the party the connecting rooms weren't guaranteed, however, if only one parent would have been on the reservation then it would have been guaranteed.

Adjoining does not equal connecting.
Okay whatever - they were connected.

My DD is going to WDW next year with a school group. There are 4 girls to a room, no adults. Groups are subject to different rules.
Well then clearly the Disney person we booked with told us wrong. We had 10 dancers and we had to have someone over 18 in each room. That's what the group booking person told us. Apparently is just depends on who you talk to when you call.

Well there you go, you only had 10 kids. My school sent over 100. There was no way that they were going to get enough chaperones for a 1 to 3 ratio.

Well the rules should be the same - a school group is a school group. I went when I was in band and we had 200 kids so I get it would be impossible to have that many chaperones.
