Does Disney Magic 5 night Cruise offer a Martini Tasting?

I'm not a wine drinker....but saw that some cruises offer tastings for various type of drinks...like a Martini or other type of liquor tasings.

Does anyone know if they offer these type of tastings on the 5 night Disney Magic cruise?

Also....for these type of tastings....I'm going with my In-laws and was thinking of trying it out with them...but my Wife can't drink for various reasons. Is she able to join my In-laws and myself ( even if she's not going to do any "tasting" )?

I've attached a link below to the Personal Navigator for Day 1 of the May 10, 2015 5-night Magic cruise. On the second page, at the top left, it shows the tasting classes offered. The martini tasting is one of them.

There are mixed reports as to whether someone can attend a tasting without registering and paying for it. I think it depends on the person running the tasting and how full the room is. She can certainly attend if she makes the reservation and pays for her spot. You can ask if she can attend if you aren't paying for her, but there aren't any guarantees as to whether that will be allowed or not.

Thanks Maggie's Mom. I am hoping that they will allow someone to attend even if they don't pay for a spot. I will check with them when I try to book the tasting.

Do you ( or anyone ) know how much the tasting costs per person?

Is it worth it?

Your wife can attend, but she may not be able to sit with your group if it is well attended. The tables are preset with drinks, so since the bars where these are held are large, there will be tables and chairs that are not setup.

My wife has always sat elsewhere in the bar, sometimes just behind me and has never been asked to pay. My wife claims she is the designated driver, considering how often I drink, she does have to lead me to the next event.

I don't drinnk that often....but when I do....I prefer only the "sweet type of fru-fru" drinks.

My wife and I have done the martini tasting, and if you're mostly a "fru-fru" drink person, I don't recommend the martini session. We had five different martinis, and only a couple were of the sweet type (although the choco-tini was marvelous). There is also a tequila tasting, but that's hardcore if you're not used to it. You might be more interested in the mixology class wherein a CM teaches you how to make a few mixed drinks (again, I think it's 5 of them), and most of them are fruity and/or sweet-based. Plus, the interaction with the CM is much better than you have at the other tastings. You might also like the champagne tasting class; though you say you're not a fan of wine, this particular session offers some very tasty bubbly.

If you like sweet, "fru-fru" drinks, then mixology would probably be the best class for you. You are correct that the schedule varies on different cruises, but the majority of classes are during the afternoon on sea days. There are occasionally classes at night, but very few. It seems that the whiskey tasting is one that often happens in the evenings. On 3 night cruises, most of the tasting classes are on the afternoon of the Nassau day.

Both the mixology and the martini tasting are mostly sweet type drinks. The martini tasting usually start with the classics but quickly move on to things like appletinis, chocolatetinis, etc.

Thanks for all of your responses. The mixology class seems like the most fun and interesting. I'll suggest it to my In-Laws and wife and see which options to go with.
