Does Disney have any regrets with Storm Along Bay?

The regret is how deep and strong the lazy river at SAB is. During our stay we saw several kids struggling bad. 2 lifeguard were put in a mock drowning situation test too.

We went swimming 6 nights during our stay after 5pm. Only got wristbands 1 night.

SAB is easily the best pool at Disney world but I think the only regret would be the 8ft deep section in a lazy river. What sense does that make?
The lifeguard told me she gets that question a dozen times a day. They also have to place a lifeguard at that spot at all times.

And the slide entrance is outside the pool, across the public walkway around Crescent Lake. (Which adds 2 more CM’s to monitor those gates)
