does Disney ever give free nights if you complain?

this is petty but it makes me crazy. I have a "friend" who has "problems" with every hotel room she ever stays in. They make a habit of heavily complaining until they are granted 2 or 3 free nights stay. She recently stayed at one of the resorts (first time to WDW) and they had a "problem" with the lock that supposedly didn't lock. I don't know of any hotel room door in the last 20 years that doesn't lock automatically when closed. Anyway she is holding out to "hear back from them" to see what they will do to rectify the situation. They might go again next year and this is what she does. Anyway I told her not to look for Disney to make such an adjustment.

like I said - yeah petty

Petty? Maybe. Sounds more like a JERK! to me.:rolleyes1

I think we should not put the problem this way. If anything bad happens, I am sure it will get solved, but it should not be something to discuss about just to use it at one point. Isn't it? I mean nobody would like their name hurt so in case anything bad would happen, they would try to fix it, even this way.

The only time we ever complained and wanted something in return was a trip to CBR a few years ago. Midway through our trip we wake up early in the morning to a weird bubbling noise coming from the bathroom. Long story short, the sewage system was backed up and overflowing into out tub. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone out immediately to investigate. Took over a half hour for anyone to get there and 15 minutes from there the tub was dangerously close to overflowing. I immediately starting packing stuff up while my husband went to the front desk in person to ask for another room. Let me tell you, I'm usually a fanatic when it comes to packing and I had everything in suitcases and outside the door in under 10 minutes! They moved us to a new room (even though the problem was fixed right around the time I got stuff out, there was no way either of us could have stomached using the tub to shower even after housekeeping would have come through:scared: ). We were also offered half the rate of the room for that night back. I felt this was fair given the fact that we had to evacute the room very quickly and early in the morning.

ditto, i noticed a lot of you did something after you got home, they are not scared of you when you are 2000 miles away but they will listen if you are in their face and let them know you are not going to just "go away"

I agree. I think writing a letter after-the-fact is pretty useless. These things need to be addressed when they happen.

Heck in August I ate at the SciFi restraurant and bite into a HUGE piece of plastic that was on my hamburger. After showing it to the server, they still charged me for the burger, but at least they didn't charge me extra for the plastic topping.

And you didn't actually pay for it, did you? See that's the thing. We determine how other people treat us. I would have simply refused to pay for the burger.

About 3 years ago I took my 2 children and my mother to the Beach Club. My mom hadn't been to wdw in 20 plus years. We had one problem after the other. The breaking point was when the closet door came off the track and fell on my sons head. When I went to the front desk and asked for a manager I was offered 10% off and the door fixed. The next day the sink was leaking carpet wet, back down to the front desk, I asked for the same manager I spoke with, well long story short the person I spoke with that offered me 10% off was not a manager or in training to be one.
Problems were all retified from there.
That same year my children and I spent New Years day at Movies, another nightmare. I asked for the bed spreads to be changed and the floor leaned or move me because there was sticky blue stuff all over. No rooms available so they said they would clean the room, fine. Next day found the same blue sticky candy on the other bed and still on a good portion of the carpet. Then the drawers in the dresser broke. I had to call home and get the phone number of the person I spoke with from the executive offices. Took pictures etc.
Needless to say room was recleaned and the housekeeping manager watched while it was done with me.
I couldn't believe this was happening again at a disney resort. I can laugh about it now but when you are going through it and dealing with the managers and those higher up they can make the honest person feel like you are trying to scam them.
I did send the pictures I took to Meg Croftons office, to show them. They apologized up and down.
