The price for the April flight I booked a while back has gone down about $75. Can I call and get this credited? Id be looking to have the difference applied to Aug airfare.

Surely, however, depending on the rules applicable to your original airfare, a change fee may apply. I've had airfares on some airlines where there was no change fee, and I've had airfares on some airlines where the change fee was 100% (i.e., if I changed anything about my reservation, I'd basically have to pay whatever the new airfare was in total -- the amount I originally paid would be forfeit.)

You'll have to check the rules on your specific airfare. If the fare has gone down $75 and the change fee is $100, then you're better off doing nothing, eh?

Delta considers even a simple fare drop to be a "change", and charges $50 per ticket - depending of course, as bicker states, the type of ticket you purchased. So you'd end up with a $25 credit on Delta, to be used only by the original ticket holder.

...and $25 is better than a sharp stick in the eye. May as well grab it while you can.

Hmmm.. I was told at the time of our purchase that they would only credit us if AT THE DAY WE FLY the price was lower than what we originally paid.

I'll mighty  if that wasn't the case. Our flight went down quite a bit a few months ago..and has since gone up quite a bit.

Okay, well, this http://www.delta.com/help/faqs/refunds/index.jsp#refund_adjust is Delta's posted response to the issue:
If I have purchased a ticket and a new fare is introduced, can I obtain a credit?
Yes, in many cases you may obtain a credit voucher (non-refundable tickets) or refund (refundable tickets) at any Delta airport ticket counter, City Ticket Office location, or over the phone (e>tickets only) for the difference in fare. A fee will apply for non-refundable tickets.

When we introduce new fares or reduce a current fare in a particular market, you may change a ticket to the new fare if:

The change is made prior to departure
You do not change the flight, date, origin, destination or stopover points
Reservations are confirmed in the appropriate class of service
All fare restrictions are met
The lower fare is not a special delta.com only fare
Any applicable penalties are retroactive to the new fare ticket.

Very interesting. I'm still not complaining. We got a really great deal. By the time we paid the fee for all 5 tickets we probably wouldn't have got any back..LOL But good to know for future use. Thank you! :thumbsup2

If there is another fare drop, and you want to take advantage of that, you'd end up paying a second change fee.
True, but if you are holding out for a second decrease you may as well just head to the casino and try your luck there instead. Bird in the hand, etc.
