Does Delta Add More Seats for Low Fares

Our trip is still about 6 weeks away, leave Dec. 12th, and apparently some low rates were released today, but now nothing left but yet still plenty of open seats left at higher fares.

What are the chances of more seats being made available for the lower fares?

I would book now. The closer it gets the more expensive they usually get.

Depends...if the flight is not filled to Delta's liking as Dec 12th approaches, you may see more seats made available at the lower fares. You may want to consider purchasing your tickets now, and requesting a credit if the fare drops later.

I agree with the buy it now, get the discount if the price goes down. It is really give a 5 minute phone call to get the price switched and get a credit for future use.

At least then you will know the maximum amount that you will pay as opposed to waiting and having to pay more than you wanted.

Thanks for the replies! I called this a.m. and have them holding my reservation until tomorrow, then I'll go ahead and book. I always thought the fees pretty much offset any savings and didn't know they would issue credits as long as you didn't make any changes! I learn something new on these boards all the time!

We're not able to stay at the Wilderness Lodge this year, but 11 nights difference in room rates at the AS-Mu will almost pay for our annual passes so more money to save for hopefully our first Disney Cruise next Fall.

Please note that fares are not guaranteed for tickets on hold. They hold the seat but not the fare. So if they sell out of the lower fare you SOL.

also remember that if the fare drops you will receive a "merchandise" credit. Not a credit back to your credit card. It will be valid on the airline for one year from date of issue.

Dec 12 is high season and I doubt that Delta will drop fares to this tourist destination during holiday season.
